I'm playing in Chicago and suddenly I daily have multiple calls where a Water Tanker is requested. But Chicago doesn't have a Tanker so I wondered if its possible to make a function where you can turn off things like that or that I can send like two engines instead of one Tanker.
Water Tanker requested but the city doesnt have one

As far I'm aware, there is no way to disable it. According to the vehicle market, Tankers are required once you have constructed your 7th fire station.
Water tank equipment does exist, however, I've not personally tested it.There is also the pumper tanker, a multi purpose vehicle that serves as both a Engine and Tanker simultaneously, however, if you've yet to reach the rank of Captain it will cost coins.

You can use pumper tankers for that, I know its not the same but it fills the requirement and kinda keeps your realism

I was wondering the same thing.
I send in a tender from a rural area 10 minutes away, but for the sake of realism is there any way to avoid this?
Anyone know if dropping POIs can help? I put down one City Centre and a few other things too, schools, and restaurants. Will it help identify that’s its a more urban area if I put down a lot more?

May have to do with the rural/urban settings. This is not a new thing....happens all the time in my set up

I'll label a pumper tanker as an "engine" in-game. If you utilize the Alarm and Response Regulations. a pumper tanker will respond as a water tanker or a type 1 engine. So it'll meet the game requirements. I use a similar tactic in the game for the need for Heavy Rescues, I'll label Rescue Engines as just a regular engine in the game.. so a request for heavy rescue in the ARR, will trigger an "engine" to respond, especially with most US departments going away with walk-in rescues or squads. Keeping the realism there.

I do the same with tankers or pumper tankers. A lot of times I will just label the pumper tanker as an Engine when I name it but when I set up the LSSM tabs for units, I included the pumper tanker in the engine tab as well as the tanker tab so it always shows as an engine and tanker.... (I call them tenders). A lot departments do still have large "Heavy Squads" and so while they may all not be walk-ins they do exist. All you have to do is look at the manufacturer sites or FD periodicals and there are tons of them. But for dual purposes, I use a lot of the "Rescue Engines" as well but when I put them in the station I label them as "Jacksonville Rescue Engine 55" (or whatever) and also have it in both the squad and engine categories in the LSSM tabs
