Automatic POIs?

  • Alright, I know what I'm going to write might be downright impossible.

It would be amazing if there was a system implemented that creates POIs based on OSM's data. OpenStreetMap has some pretty solid data and could support a multitude of POIs.

Some of which being: bus stops, banks, coast lines, Highway exits, hospitals, hotels, supermarkets, schools, tram stops and more

Of course one (and the only at the moment) solution is to spend a few hours manually placing every point on the map (and doing it everytime you expand) which is fine, but the OSM thing would make the whole thing easier.

  • I would love to see something added to assist in POIs

I came up with an idea today to make POI maps downloadable, very similar to graphic packs someone can make a POI map that can be shared and imported to someone's game, from there you can stack downloads and add your own POIs. this could also be used as community efforts to make maps for cities. x amount of people work on their own districts of NYC for example you can get a good POI map in quicker time. its not an amazing solution for POIs but defiantly would work as a community.

This seems both feesable and VERY smart - possibly the best idea to fix POIs I've seen on this forum. It would be very minimal cost to the devs compared to using OS MAPs data imported which they obviously have no intention of doing anytime soon. And stacking the downloads shouldn't be toooooo difficult?
