• good morning/afternoon,

i have searched the forums for the BTP extension, but cant seem to find any posts about it.

what does the community think about the BTP extension for the Police stations or having a BTP police station on its own.

so missions like (yes already know we have these)

    - fair dodger

    - passenger under train

    - person hit by train.

    - person tresspassing on railway

i also want to see vehicles that are security related and not just the emergency services.

    whats everyone thought on this?

  • VICFire

    Approved the thread.
  • Yes, I would support this
A Small only Police Station that can only be located within a Railway Station, no cells
A Medium only Police Station that can only be expanded from above, up to two cells
A small range of BTP vehicles (IRV), one (small) and two (medium)

  • Fare Dodger could be local or BTP, as this does not require a PTS (Rail Passenger Track Safety) course
However anything on premises should be BTP only (under train / hit by train / trespass)

As an aside some additional BTP (railway police (UK)) missions could be created
Theft from train station shop / cafe
Theft of metal from train depot
    Bricks thrown at passing train
Bricks thrown at passing train, severe damage
Tree on railway line (BTP and Fire station)
    and so on

  • I'll be honest, I don't like the idea of non-police security services being implemented. I would absolutely prefer to see only government agencies / services in use, with the exception of voluntary blue light services such as Mountain Rescue / RNLI / SJA. I also don't really see the need for a BTP extension - POIs already cover the use of train-related missions - although a specialisation for stations to only spawn train related missions could work well for this.

*Edit* I do think it could work with specific training for railway incidents - but I see no need for any new vehicles unless you mean the London-specific versions as a police car is a police car, whichever force is using it. And new stations also seems like over-complication for what is going to be a station with no/minimal cells.

*Second Edit* I know that BTP are a government agency - my mention of non-police security services is in relation to the "security" vehicles the original post mentioned. I have added this for clarity as it was clearly misunderstood below.

The BTP (British Transport Police) IS A GOVERNMENT AGENCY!! It is a POLICE Force in its own right and only covers the UK Rail Networks! It is not Private or a security firm! They have ALL the powers of a Regular Police Force!

The BTP is a National Police Service for ALL Railways in the UK, ALL Station/Track/Train incidents are covered by the BTP NOT Local Police Forces!

In most cases, yes BTP would attend first to a reported incident on railway property
However, sometimes the nature of the call results in local police, fire and/or ambulance attending
It then becomes clear that BTP are required either instead or additionally

My first thought was to add a new BTP extension (similar to Traffic Police)
However this would not be the case and would need to be a new standalone service

That's lovely, and I'm aware of it already. The original post mentions security separately. Please re-read it.
