• So the facebook page posted a sneak peak of the tow trucks part 2 with the rotator and tow lot being mentioned. I think to go along with these it would be nice to see a service truck added. Not all calls need an actual tow truck like flat tire or vehicle out of gas they could be handled by a service truck. Most tow companies have these vehicles to handle these kinds of calls and vehicle lock outs. They also use service trucks to support rotators on major calls with additional personnel and equipment.

  • I think this addition is unnecessary and uncalled for. It is an emergency game and tow trucks do NOT respond emergency to tow a vehicle. Also, what does a towing lot have to do with emergencies? Yes....some large metro companies have their own rig but they are part of special operations and even when they are used they don't tow from scene. Adding these items and then "requiring" them to be able to finish a mission is an unfunded mandate. For those of us that have been playing for years and have large set ups, the cost to purchase these across our entire set up would be astronomical.

It's just another money grab, by the developers, maybe adding Helicopter crew training , not even the pilot needs a qualification, this would be a better add-on, next we will have dog rangers for the dog escape shelter emergency that one, has ever attended . FFS

  • I also agree that the tow truck lot is a bit excessive and unnecessary, but I do see why they put it in the game. If there was a car crash IRL then the firefighters or whatever would have to call a wrecker or a tow truck to pick the vehicle up. So it makes sense, but 300,000 credits? That’s way too much. If they were like 150,000 that would be a bit more reasonable…

The game is a first responder or emergency response, emergency management game. Typical tow trucks are not part of any of that response and are normally requested by Police and come into play "after" the incident is managed or stabilized. They are not first responders or any type of emergency. Yes.....a small amount of Fire Departments in the US do have some sort of HEAVY Wrecker as part of their special operations division, but they are rare and only respond where there is a need for that type of special unit. They do not tow vehicles away or take them to storage facilities. I just see no place for the towing vehicles in this game..

  • But mission chief is a dispatch simulation of sorts and the job of a dispatcher is to coordinate with emergency personnel and to send units to the scenes of emergencies. AND as I mentioned before they can call towing companies and say places like the department of transportation to fix damaged roadways, power lines, bridges. Etc.

  • I'm going to throw my opinions in - please bear in mind, I'm a brit, so things ultimately won't work the same here that they do in the US, and I'm not part of the US content advisor team, and have not spoken to them about this at all.

    1. In my experience, this game was created to mimic, to a certain extent, an emergency dispatch role. In my head, emergency means life & property at imminent risk of significant harm or serious crimes in progress. Personally speaking, tow trucks have absolutely nothing to do with that. They're like street sweepers for very large objects that need moving.

    2. From the point of view of a content advisor (again, not US based, and not until recently, although I've been on the forum a while): tow trucks is something I know that members of the community have been requesting on the US side for a long time. Yes, it's not the only thing, but it is one of the more common suggestions I've seen for the US side of the game. For those of you who aren't going to use it, no worries, but remember there are (vocal or otherwise) members of our community who do use it, and enjoy it.

    3. And on that note - nobody is forcing you to use this side of the game. It's entirely optional. If you don't want to buy tow trucks or linked vehicles etc, then don't. If there are missions requiring them, and you have not purchased anything linked, I suggest you report it as a bug on the in-game contact section so that the devs can adjust it.

That is not true, in some US states tow trucks are authorized to run red and blues and can run code to get to an emergency.

The day they add required training for HEMS is the day I delete all my HEMS lol

Thank you for stating this part I have been biting my tongue trying to find a way to say this nicely like you have. I posted this suggestion for those of us who do use this side of the game. Only for my thread to turn into people saying how it is not needed etc

  • Yeah I found out about it from Ron Pratt on youtube. He runs a tow company out of Missouri and they run code sometimes.

Remind me to never go to Missouri if that is the case. Creates 'siren fatigue and desensitizes people to emergency vehicle lights and sirens, because I can assure you, some operators will make every tow call an 'emergency' so they can play with those 'toys'.
