So I located in AL about 261 miles away from the coast. I was wondering if I were to place in this area
would I still get coast Guard calls? I am thinking I will because I have gotten a lot of calls were the location is interesting like hiker stuck on mountain while the call being in side the city

The building has a setting for mission spawn area. The game can't determine between land or water so you will get missions in any area that the spawn area is set to. Adjust your spawn. And you can drag the circle in one direction or another to get it off the land. you can see in the 2nd picture where I drug the spawn area circle away from the coast and then the water missions will not happen on land. Despite having multiple Coast Guard Stations along my coastal areas, I can't say I have had an hiker stuck mission. But before changing the circles, I would get "boat lost its mast" or jet ski out of fuel in the middle of large cities....Laughing
