Does anyone else feel like, out of all the special need expansions for the hospitals, not having a “Burn Center” by now is kinda ridiculous?
Kinda tired of EVERYTHING being trauma out of lack of a better option.

The way I treat things like this for hospitals, is you need one or two in a region, as not all hospitals have this capability. Makes role playing with a medical chopper more realistic.

Not everyone wants to roleplay though.
If the Burn unit was added and the patients from tanker truck explosions, refinery explosions, and powerplant explosions became burn patients (among the many other fire calls with patients), I would have to add burn units to all my hospitals or I wouldn't be able to handle the patients. On average during a double credits event when I play as much as I can during the day, I'll transport around 21k patients.
It would cripple my ability to play for at least a week to add burn units and force a ton of patients to require a burn center.

There's a balance to be struck. If we rule out every possible alteration on the grounds that players will have to adapt their setup, nothing will ever change or be added.

perhaps but who is willing or able to expand full set up to do this....The cost would be astronomical. For Example I have the entire state of Florida, part of Ga and AL covered. Florida alone has almost 70 counties and I have at least one hospital in each county but depending on which county 5 or more...

Potentially they could release it in a staggered way if they did implement. Give the players say, a month (I'm just pulling that outta nowhere, could be more or less), to update hospitals, then they pull the trigger on missions producing those patients.
