I was wondering if I could have standard paramedics trained as CCTU paramedics assigned to a standard ALS ambulance? If so, would that trigger interfacility transfers if I had enough patients in a hospital?
-
-
no. you need the actual CCTU unit to trigger the calls. Then either the CCTU or HEMS and do the call
-
Ok. Well kinda useless when I have a few counties that do patient transfers utilizing their ALS ambulances.
-
You could "roleplay" that the CCTU and or HEMS is ALS seeing as they are the highest ALS you can provide.

True, but I find that the CCTU will not always transport automatically, even if you have your settings right and an EMS chief there. Especially for patient transfers. I added quite a few when they first came out as I expanded to new stations.

So am I understanding you correctly, that if I have a CCTU with the trained personnel it will work as an ALS ambulance, but an ALS ambulance can’t work as a CCTU even with trained personnel?

If it doesn’t auto transport with the EMS Chief, then the developers should change it so that the ALS ambulance with CCTU trained personnel works as both units combined. I’ve spent a lot of time and virtual money in this game, I’m not seeing the point of having to destroy my vehicles for new vehicles to have a combined unit.

- Critical Transport Missions require a CCTU
- Critical care transport missions (i.e. inter‐facility transfers of critically ill patients) now require the CCTU.
- There's a Facebook post by Mission Chief explicitly saying “Critical transport missions require the new CCTU
- ALS ambulances can’t fulfill CCTU missions simply by being upgraded/trained
- Having a regular ALS ambulance, even with trained paramedics, does not let it substitute for a CCTU in terms of triggering or completing critical care transfer missions.
- Can standard paramedics trained as CCTU paramedics assigned to a standard ALS ambulance?” The answer given was “no. you need the actual CCTU unit to trigger the calls.”

Yes CCTU can act as an ALS Ambulance, An ALS Ambulance with CC training cannot act as a CCTU. A HEMS acts as both
-
Thanks. I guess I can change my ALS ambulances for personnel that have the training to the CCTU units, since CCTUs can act as ALS Ambulances.
-
you can, but you will lose 1 staff per unit as CCTU have only 2 staff, and ALS have 3
-
I assign my ALS Ambulances to just 2 anyway. Most departments have just two persons on any Ambulance. At least thats the case in my area of NE Florida.
