Mission Chief US Version Dead?

  • Hello All,

I'm not sure who to address this post to, but I've been thinking about this for a while now and believe that something needs to be mentioned. I'm hoping that maybe this could create some honest discussion and I wanted to ask the honest question... is the US version of Mission Chief just dead? And what I mean by that is, is it no longer being supported by the developers?

I've been a long time player of Mission Chief for years, a long time lurker in these forums and occasionally post. I go through waves of playing and I'm sure others do too. I get super into it for a few weeks, take a week or two break, come back to it, play some more, etc. However, more and more it seems like the player base is dying and the developers (or whoever is supporting this game) have seemingly abandoned it. I understand that there are still missions being added weekly, but those just seem like missions being added on autopilot that don't seem to require that much input, and in many cases aren't all that interesting. They also aren't tailored to a US player base using US vocabulary.

Outside of these mission updates, there only seem to be the very occasional small updates to UI or something else, and while those are helpful and appreciated, they don't really impact or fix the major issues that are routinely being reported.

Beyond this, many of the issues raised on Facebook posts, submitted to Support in game, and bug posts created on this forum go completely unanswered. I have bug/fix requests I've submitted to Support in game that have been submitted days or even weeks ago that have zero acknowledgment or any response at all. And when submitting bug reports in this forum, it feels like no one who actually works on this game or has the power to address these bugs ever visits this forum or responds to any of the posts.

So, again, is this game just unsupported at this point? Have the developers just moved on? This thought especially crossed my mind recently when they sent the message in game to all players about the beta of their new game, Logistics Empire. It just feels like a slap in the face to anyone who is still playing Mission Chief and wants to see it continue to be supported. Why would I want to invest any time or money into a new game when the one I'm already playing feels abandoned?

As someone who used to routinely buy coins to support this game, I feel like it's extremely difficult to justify any additional coin purchases or support this game any longer and I would assume that others feel this same way.

I will just end this by saying that I would love for someone to respond to this post to tell me that I'm wrong or correct me or point me in the right direction... by all means, please do so!

Thanks for your time and if you made it this far, thanks for reading.

  • I am starting to feel that all the times I have bought coins to support is pretty much wasted, I had spent almost $3k for coins over the last 5 years and been getting pretty crappy service in game, especially on the forums at the start my alliance is on the UK serve but play in the US map and every time I promote my alliance I do so in the UK forums and the admins move it to the US.X(
