-
There are “large prison” extensions available for police stations which act as custody suites. Regular Stations can already also build up to 10 cells in addition to this.
I will request they are renamed as custody suite expansions. -
Would it be possible for vehicles to be added?? Not many maybe like 3. Here in met land the custody suites are mainly office based roles CID, CSU etc but also have SNT minibuses

A decision was made to deliberately not include vehicles as this could risk the devs raising the price to follow that of police stations - which would make the new suites extremely expensive for those with lots of police stations already. This is not a hard "no" but it's probably something we'd look at later down the line.

I am slowly building my Police estate to meet the requirement for more than 10 Prison Cells
I am struggling to understand how / what the game Custody Suite is
It looks like the only option is to build one and see the benefits / costs / differences
One option I am considering is to use this as Border Control Police or similar
This would make it easier to identify (as the Airport Police, Armed Cell Van is redundant) -

The custody suite was designed to get player owned prisons which has been long requested.
Custody Suite was chosen as the name to better fit in with the Police side of the game as prisoners would not be transported directly to a prison. The ability is still there to use them as prisons if a player chooses to.
Players can now build Custody Suites/Prisons with 30 cells once fully upgraded which we hope will greatly improve the prisoner system - I have asked for the build times to be instant instead of the current queuing system.

This would make it easier to identify (as the Airport Police, Armed Cell Van is redundant)The in-game custody suite is a renamed version of the alliance prison. Cells (up to 30), no vehicles. Not linked to the cost of regular police stations, no specialist policing expansions. Does not generate missions.
What you use it for is up to you, but it beats the hell out of spending 1.5 million on a new police station (if someone have a lot of police stations already) when all someone wants is extra cell capacity.
Unsure what you mean about the Armed Cell Van being redundant, last time I checked it was the only firearms capable vehicle to transport prisoners which makes it unique.
-
They really need to add a "build all prison cells" button, because manually selecting 20 is annoying. Either that or convert them to work like Hospitals, with cells added via building level not extension

There are no missions that require this vehicle, there are other more suitable vehicles
I had one Armed Cell Van with zero miles, so disposed of it -

I do not use Alliance building resources, so might be why I have not understood this building

(text in the custody suite)
Is it actually every 10 police stations or should it be every 10 custody suites?
Because I can build large prisons on a normal police station, but I cannot upgrade the custody suites to large prisons -

Please see below, Al did mention this:

Ah missed that, yeah, would be good, especially on the large police depots with 40 prisoner slots. They are a pain to max out

I don't see myself using custody suites, just seems like a waste of money
I like the idea of custody suites being an extension and maybe adding like 10 cells to a police station but we already have that as the large prison extension.
Is it not possible to do it where prisoners are categorised like patients and when they get taken to the cells at a police station for 1 hr. Once the time has expire depending on the category of prisoner they will have a percentage chance on release. Criminals not released hold up cells for lets say 12 or 24hrs. And that can take up valuable cells.
That's where the new building comes in, prison transport depot. Similar to the recovery Centre, probably cost around the same 300k mark but this building allows you to buy 2 new vehicles small prison transport van (holds 2 prisoner) and large prison transport van (holds 4 prisoners).
So back at the police station the prisoners who have 12+ hrs till release they have a transport button that would allow you to send a prison transport van to collect and then transport to a Prison that can be added instead of the custody suites and maybe cost 500k or more.
This option would be pretty realistic but fun and challenging to maintain and upgrade and expand across my network

I quite like this idea tbf! Randomise how long said person is in custody for

Thank you for your feedback. We are aware players all have their own unique playstyle and that not all players will use all features.

The "large prison" extension will hopefully be re-named to "custody suite" as well. This new building adds the ability to increase player cell capacity further, to replicate standalone custody centres, and to build their own prisons should they wish to. In essence, it gives flexability to accomodate more playstyles whilst retaining an element of realism for those who seek that.

We will consider a future update for transfers from custody>court>prison etc. Implementation will rely on the Developers wanting to do so, not us as volunteer advisors, but should the Developers decide to add this element to the game, I hope we will already have some sort of draft ready for them to speed the process up. I agree that some sort of transfer process would be a valuable addition to the game.

Whitchit Is there any feedback regarding the map filter name.
At the moment, the custody suites are listed under prisons within the map filterMight cause a bit of confusion.
Could also perhaps be good to give them a different default map logo to that of a police station, much in the same way that police depots do.
One on the left is a custody suite (which im just deploying as prisons) vs the depot and police station on the right

Alctw10 Please could this be raised & modified to match the building name.

This can certainly be asked for as well. In the meantime, I've designed a default-ish icon you may wish to use, modified the German game's "Police HQ" Icon.
