Vehicle Fires

I’m not sure how common it is in the US to have this happen but here in the UK it is unlikely that someone would still be in the vehicle if it is on fire, maybe if the vehicle was involved in a collision but then it would be classed as an MVA

You’re mostly right. It happens on occasion but its usually just classified as an MVA with Fire

If it's a vehicle fire on it's own, typically people are out of the car on their own quickly. Like said above, the main time people can't get out is if the vehicle caught fire after a collision with need for extrication.

Mostly at times, Ive seen maybe to 3-4 times that a person would be inside the vehicle while it is fully involved on fire. But when the vehicle catches fire first they probably had left the car and made it to a safe place till emergency crews would arrive. A vehicle that had ran off the road or maybe had hit it pole or whatever the case may be when the call comes out through the radio usually the dispatcher would give us said information on the call when we are responding.

I have actually had car fires with a patient before. It'll happen if an MVA turns into a car fire with the mission expansion.

Since Pumpers already respond to MVAs, having them become MVAs with Fire wouldn't really do anything. Sounds like a very pointless addition to me, I doubt that they could add a timer to response.
