Rescue with Air Unit Capabilities

  • Huge fan of the game. But I have 1 suggestion...Can we get a rescue that has an unit capabilities? I would venture to say about 60% of rescues constructed today have mobile air cascade system capabilities, so I think a unit that does both would be very helpful.

    Thank you

I really like this idea, but much like the idea of an Engine-Tanker the developer will most likely not add it in order to not make the game too easy

  • Yeah, that is one thing that the developer refuses to listen to the players about. I have two Air Units and that is all I ever will have. City of Rochester Protectives Company which is actually an Air/Light/Salvage Truck. And Chili Rescue 4318 which is actually an Air/Light/Rescue. All other cascade systems are in aerials or Heavy Rescues so can't be added.

  • Rather than a engine some commands in the UK have the ability to top up BA tanks. Mostly our engines carry atleast 4 spare cylinders but don't have the ability to refill them until at the station.

It Depends on the Crew Size and how many people are riding that Day

the developer does listen and the forum team make suggestions well known to him. If you read some past posts you will see the developer doesn't want to keep adding joint/shared units as this will make the game to easy. It was also quoted that he wasn't happy in adding the quint and rescue engine.

Some people don't really know what they talk about Stuart :D

The problem is the QUINT is needed as it's a real thing that operates in the USA UK and some European countries. I'd love to see a QUINT in the German game but it would be a long shot as only a handful operate them.

  • I know a QUINT is a real unit. But it is not really needed In the game. A QUINT isnt a requested unit to any call. Yet a PLATFORM truck is. And also a TYPE 1 is another requested unit to calls. a QUINT was added as a request from members like me and you and everyone on this forum. But as a I said above the developer for the game wasn't happy about adding the QUINT or RESCUE ENGINE as he believes keep adding joint capability units makes the game to easy.

I can see were you coming from as yes they do operate in the US UK and they do make it better for us all to respond to calls
But I cant see them adding anymore joint units just yet.

I wasn't aware that he was unhappy with those units
I agree that some people will get that as a way to have a tanker that they won't need at all times, personally I requested the Engine Tanker because it is very common around Portugal to have those, actually way more common than a Quint or even a Rescue Engine, but again I know this is the US version (rlx :D )
I think we should try to get actually new units with new functions like the upcoming Boats and later if really needed make vehicles that have multi-function capability

Ladder trucks can already cut trees like heavy rescue guys! Next thing you are asking for is an Engine + Tanker + Air Unit + Ladder + HRV + Boat + HAZMAT + everything else?

I will put this here for future reference: "This is just a game" and some units just can't be added as they would break game logic and make the game a lot easier!

  • If you didnt know what the Quint serves as, dual purpose of an engine and a ladder truck. And if you ask me that needing all of these trucks that are used in RL i wouldnt know what to say.

I think everybody knows what a Quint is :D

  • I understand that each department may have specialist custom trucks that multitask (it’s kind to budgets) but we have to remember that this is a game so it does have to work differently, not to say they won’t happen just most likely not in the near future.

  • Creating a unit that is used in real life does not make the game easier. We purchase the trucks our departments use in real life. If someone's department/departments have those trucks they do need them, if their depts do not own them they are not going to buy them.
As for not knowing what I am talking about, I have researched fire apparatus in this country for 20 years. I know considerably more than a certain person from Portugal.
And the specialist trucks are not the ones that perform multiple tasks. Most departments in the nation no longer have plain Platforms or Ladders, they have Quints now. There is only one of my future aerials that is not a Quint, same as thousands of other counties. Same with the Rescue Pumper, many, many depts have cut costs or added equipment by replacing two trucks with a Rescue Pumper or replacing a Pumper or Rescue with a Rescue Pumper. Many depts have a Heavy Rescue, Rescue, and Rescue Pumper. Specialist trucks are Mobile Air Units (most depts have a cascade system on another truck), Technical Rescue (collapse and trench rescue), Command Units, HazMat Units. Rescue Pumpers and Quints are not nor have they ever have been special units. Neither are the thousands of Heavy Rescues equipped with a cascade system.

I would just like to add and say ...THIS IS A GAME....its not reallife. its up to the developers what get added, he doesnt want to keep adding units to make it more and more easy even though all of these units exist in the real world.

Someone from Portugal certainly must know the difference between a game and real life better than someone from the US, if only we knew who that was 8)
