New Fire Units/Older ones to rediscuss

  • District Chief - Other than just renaming, Maybe we could expand the Command Staff vehicles for a Chain Of Command type of thing. Like if a call is larger where you need 2 or more Battalion Chief Units then a District Chief can be present to oversee the situation.

Same basis as an EMS Chief responding to 10 or more patients but instead a District Chief being required when a certain amount of Battalion Chiefs are responding.

Canteen Unit - Someone has already mentioned this but didn't get much feedback so I figured I would bring this up a well. Not everyone has this so this could be an optional unit to give more credits to a call. This would be mainly for major incidents that would generally call for one of these units.

Transport Unit - For Fire and Police as well. Besides the Utility Unit to do this perhaps a designated unit to transport Firefighters and or Police Officers for extra manpower.

Trailers - Any in General like Hazmat Trailer, EMS Trailer, Kiddie Foam Tender Trailer etc

  • Canteen Unit - Someone has already mentioned this but didn't get much feedback so I figured I would bring this up a well. I like this. It would expand a Rehab type of unit to be introduced.

  • I agree tremendously with trailers.

The idea of a canteen unit is kinda interesting, but I think that this is probably not that useful in a game like this (sorry).

I personally don't like the of transport vehicles, as it isn't really universal nor realistic (for Australia anyway).

District chiefs are an interesting concept, but I don't see a need for them. Maybe if an mcv could count for 2-3 battalion chiefs? Idk, just a thought.

    Thank you! :) :)

  • I like the idea for different levels of command vehicles. Where I'm playing (NYC) the FDNY has their standard battalions (for Fire and EMS) and Divisions (for Fire and EMS). To my knowledge the carry a small command post and better communication equipment. I also like the ”Canteen Unit”. The FDNY calls them RAC (Recuperation and Care) Units. I think that they would be used on larger fires and calls.
I'm not going to comment on the Transport units as the NYPD and FDNY don't use them. (To my knowledge) I would like to see other types of trailers in the game. To my knowledge, the FDNY doesn't have any other general trailers apart from boats. However, I can see them being useful for small departments.

Currently covering Manhattan with plans to branch off into other boroughs of NYC.

    Current Rank:
    Staff Captain

  • Trailers are a definite must for the game in my opinion. Transport units would also be beneficial for my area :D

As for canteen units, I'm not very familiar with them - so I wouldn't really use them.

I like the idea of having a district chief in the game. But perhaps it can somehow be done to count as 2 battalion chiefs? For every 2 battalion chiefs, you can send 1 district chief instead?

Another unit I'd like to bring up is command units for both police and ems  They've been brought up in the past, but would like to hear what others think about them. They'd pretty much do what the fire commands currently do - so similar how there is an ems rescue too...

  • We just got the EMS Chief Lol

And thank you everyone for your feedback! Let's keep it going y'all!

  • How about a command unit for police then? Can't leave one service feeling left out... ;)

Nope not yet! But hoping we get that soon though!

  • Other levels of Chief is an interesting idea and may be worth looking into in the future.

Canteen, Rehab and Welfare units are also not a bad idea but would need to be implemented in a way that works for all.

Transport vehicles are planned for all 3 services some time, the police one will hopefully be able to transport prisoners.

Trailers is something we want so is definitely something we will be bringing up in the future.

Police and EMS command units are planned for the future but when they will be added I don’t know.

  • how about tactical rescue training for calls like trench rescue and building collapses could be a trailer or another vehicle

I think it's some point there will be a Technical Rescue Unit with training along with it. Idk when though.

  • Other levels of Chief is effectively implementing a command structure into the game - which I would love to see. It would mean that the more advanced a call, the higher the command level needs to be on scene.

I had the idea that instead of having 5 different vehicles for five levels of command (Or any other number depending on your preferance) You could have a "Supervisors vehicle" which would be crewed by staff with training to a certain command level.

For example, In the UK we have Firefighters, Crew Managers, Watch Managers, Station Managers etc... It would be nice to be able to assign one crew manager per fire fighting vehicle (Engine / Water Carrier / Ladder etc) and then be able to assign a watch manager to one vehicle for larger incidents and have a specialist Supervisor vehicle for a Station Manager for even larger missions etc..

  • Whilst I like the idea and understand it fully, we have to remember that not all players know there stuff and have more of a casual interest in emergency services, so it is important that we don’t make things over complicated.

And because of this -if you want- you could role play these, using chief and mcv units.

  • I'd also like to see a transport vehicle like a Department van.

Also I'm currently using the Type 2 Engine as Brush truck which usually would be a Type 5 (or some are Type 6).
Since alot of departments have those small Brush trucks I would really like to see that as an additional type.
