Police Extension for Fire Stations.

  • This is just an idea for a Police extension the same as the Ambulance one. My reasoning behind this is that I know a lot of UK players still play MC-US due to their large amount of resources already constructed on their US account, and that many Police stations in smaller towns are now merging with fire stations, housing offices and changing rooms, and space for a few police cars. I see this could work extremely well for players who have rural response areas where police and fire are combined.
I am also sure that it wouldn't be too uncommon for places in the States to have combined fire and police buildings so it would benefit US players as well.

I think it's an interesting idea as some of the smaller towns have Fire & Police combined into one even with Municipal Buildings. Even though very few players would use this it would be nice to see in the future.

I do want to mention any ideas should be posted in Suggestions for Improvements. Thanks!

  • My Department is like this, our Fire, Police, and EMS are based out of the municipal building. I just put all the stations in the same building separately.

  • Several months ago I brought this up under the idea of a mega/super station but at the time it wasn't too popular. Now maybe if several players like this feature where they can do this then maybe we could get it on the list of ideas to implement down the line.

  • I only know of one fire station where I used to live where it was such a big building in a central area of the district that part of the building was a police station, where I live now most towns in the county including mine have separate buildings for the departments but are relatively close. My towns PD, main fire station, and the county EMS building that houses an ambulance are right next to each other all within 50 yards of eachother but are still separate buildings, and my department only has an SUV with BLS equipment for medical calls so I just separate everything like it is IRL.

  • Yeah can't say I've ever heard of that. Seems odd to be combining fire & police - the two are much less alike than ambulance & fire which are often joined together or overlapped in many parts of the world.

My old home town in South Wales, UK now has Police, fire, Ambulance and coastguard Rescue under one roof.

  • It depends on the estate (buildings in use). ambulances in SE Wales are often based at SDP's (Social Deployment Points) which are at local fire stations. In Rural areas joint buildings seem to be coming forward more and more. There's a few in Wales now that are either Fire/ambulance or all three. Barry has fire/ambulance, Wrexham and I think Abertillery are all three.
