• I would like to see the police aviaition and hems be extensions to ems or police stations. or even hems be a extension for the hospitial. alot of the air meds are hospitial based. and the police helicopters are part of the police stations. also i think the hems should have a higher required crew. most have a crew of three and some have the ability to carry two patients at a time. but i have never called a air evac and only one person showed up. maybe add a second helicopter that can carry two patients at a time.

  • Personal opinion for HEMS;

    • The personnel need some sort of training, and the max people inside should be 4 or 6.
    • I'd like to have extensions for cars at HEMS depots, so you can have ambulance & fly cars etc based at the helipads.
    • I think you should be able to have an extension onto fire stations for HEMS.
    • Not quite sure about the max two people, because I've never seen a HEMS take more than 1.
  • These ideas have been noted and sent to the Devs.

    Thanks!

  • On the same topic.. I don't have HEMS yet in my game but can I clarify how it works..
    Is HEMS set as a "required vehicle" for any particular call? Like a HEMS unit is actually listed on the requirements.
    Or is it just used like an ambulance so can be sent to any call with patients with direct transport to hospital?

    HEMS is not mandatory. It's an optional means of transporting a patient in a much faster time.

    Say you have a patient needing transport and all your local Ambulances are in use and your nearest Ambulance is 10-15 minutes away. The HEMS will arrive much faster saving you time and your Ambulances farther away for calls in their area.

  • In Uk most HEMS are not based at Hospitals. May be different in other countries. The newer AW169 helicopters have the ability to carry two stretchers but in normal operation will likely be configured for one only. Gives more room for the critical care team in the back to work.

    I agree that having some form of critical care car (super fly-car) at the HEMS base would be good as that's rapidly become the norm over here in the UK.

  • Hems Vehicle space.... I think you should have the ability to have more than just 1 Hems per stations seeing that it cost 1 million credits we should be able to place at least 3-5 hems per station

    I would disagree with this. If HEMS is a late game unit then I think that the ability to get more than 1 should have a cost to it. I think that it should cost the same amount that it would for a new HEMS station to get a second helipad in an existing one. From what I have seen with my HEMS the only time HEMS is extremely useful is for mass casualty incidents. so with that in mind I think if HEMS was any cheaper it would make it to easy to deal with incidents with a lot of casualties.

    But one HEMS helicopter costs 1,300,000 credits if you factor in buying the station. Just to break even if you only send them to kitted out hospitals with no tax, you'd need to transport 528 patients with the helicopter alone at 300,000 credits. Add an extra million on to that and you're looking at 2,285 patients which is a hell of a lot. I would be happy to pay an additional 300,000 for a new helicopter at one HEMS base and no more.
