We've been investigating this issue and trying a few patches but thus far have not been able to reproduce this anywhere on our devices yet. While the alliance storms events are a great hint, we haven't been able to reproduce the issue either with those.
Can you tell us a bit more about the circumstances where you encounter it and also what device you are playing on (ideally with OS version, i.e. something like "Galaxy S9 running Android 10" or "iPad Air on iOS 12.1"). Also if anyone is encountering that issue right now, that would also be great. Based on the number of reports and inability to reproduce it, we strongly suspect some specific circumstances take place here, with your help it might be easier to lock these down.

Android 10 software.
A number of members in my alliance are still experiencing the issue, seems to be just around the alliance missions and events. No other issues reported.
I started an alliance storm after it appeared the issue was resolved (costing 20 coins) so that myself and other members who missed out on the free one could still take part in a storm and not miss out.
Not long after starting the issue occurred again meaning I and other members missed out again.
Will I be able to have 20 coins reimbursed to my account please?
