Help needed!

  • Hey Guys, I am Ryan a new player to MISSIONCHIEF! I have a few things that I want to double check here in the forums. Firstly, I want to know more about the fire department unit types. When I go to the vehicle market, there are 2 tabs: Fire truck and Other vehicles. What are the differences between the vehicles under the Fire Truck Tab? Other than the personnel, do they have any specialty? How about the RSU? Can it act as a fire engine unit or does is it a specialty unit? What is the CARP for?

Another question is whether an ambulance extension to my firehouse count as a rescue station. Can that generate rescue missions?

    Thanks!

  • Hello and Welcome to Missionchief!

Okay, The "Fire Truck" tab are the units that can be used as a Fire Engine. So under "Fire Truck" You have Type 1 which is the basic Fire Engine which is highly recommended to start off with. Type 2 is the same as Type 1 but has a max of 3 crew members whereas the Type 1 has a max of 6 crew.

The Rescue Engine is a combination unit of Type 1 Engine and Heavy Rescue which is a specialty unit under "Other". This unit is unlocked at the Rank of Captain or can be bought early using Coins.

The Quint is a combination unit of Type 1 Engine and Platform Ladder which is also a specialty unit under "Other". This unit is unlocked at the Rank of Captain or can be bought early using Coins.

    "Other" are specialty units.

The Pumper-Tanker is a combination unit of Type 1 Engine and Tanker which is also a specialty unit under "Other". I believe this unit can be used by any player. This is in the process of switching over to Fire Truck.

    Your basic specialty units are,

    -Platform Ladder = Ladder Truck
    -Heavy Rescue = Rescue Truck
    -Battalion Chiefs = Chief's Vehicle
-Tanker = Tanker truck, Carries extra water to scene to supply Engines

-Then you have MCV = Mobile Command Vehicle for larger calls,
-Hazmat = Specialty unit for larger calls involving Hazardous Materials.
-Mobile Air = Serves as a Cascade unit, Basically carries extra air bottles to the scene for firefighters.
-Crew Carrier = Sends extra manpower to scene to help speed up call. Max 12 crew.
-Utility Unit = This also sends extra manpower to scene, Carries any trailer units, and can serve as a Heavy Rescue. Max crew of 4.

-And then you have ARFF which has the Airport Crash Tender which crew requires training and the Airport expansion.

-Then Water Rescue which requires training and Water Rescue expansion. This has the boat & boat trailer for Water Rescue calls. And there's a Heavy Rescue with Boat on it and serves as a combination unit. This unit requires training as well.

Lastly there's the new Forestry units. Multiple types of Brush Trucks and Brush Engine combination unit. This also requires training and Forestry expansion.

Hope this helps! Any other questions feel free to ask!

    Thanks,

  • Thank you for your time! So the quint and the rescue engine can also carry out task as a type 1/2 engine!!! I have played if before but it was too slow so this time I decided to use all my starting credits on small fire stations. I have build 3 already, however, i will need a platform because i spent all my money elsewhere! Haha! What do you recommend i do next? Thanks

Anytime! That's what we're here for and thank you for giving us a second chance! This game has advanced a lot since the first time you've played. Yes, Start out small. This is an easier method and cheaper. I would start off with 4 Fire Stations then go from there and have at least 1 Engine at each Station, 2 Engines if possible. Then add 2 Platform Ladders, 2 Battalion Chief Units, 2 Heavy Rescues and go from there.

When you get to 8 Stations I would add 1 more Tankera along with 2 more Battalion Chiefs, 1 or 2 Heavy Rescues, And another Platform Ladder.

Now, If you are at the rank of Captain you can free up space with the Rescue Engine and Quint. Like I stated earlier Pumpers Tankers may be available to all players but don't quote me on that. If you can have access to these unit you'll have an easier set up and will save credits and time.

If you don't have access to them you can go with what I suggested before or buy coins and get these units.

    Thanks,

  • Hey thanks! I do believe that a platform is really necessary but i spent all my credit on my first 3 fire stations (small) and all my missions are now roof related and I do not have an aerial platform or have enough coins to buy a platform, I cannot advance... Is there a reset missions button? I will follow along with your suggestions as soon as I can get a platform!

    Many thanks!

I would suggest starting with police now and then ambulance (and a hosital) , once you have all the fire vehicles needed for 3 fire stations. This is because a friend of mine has 26 fire stations, and has now come to build police. He has had to save up millions of credits (literally, 5 million) to build police stations, as once you have 1 police station you can get calls needed police anywhere across your patch (eg a house fire, 2 police cars). One thing I have learnt id to expand with all 3 services, eg if you build a new fire station, also build the police and ambulance stations for that area, as well as the hospital. There is also the issue of when you build 6 police stations, you need K9 units, and then this needs specialist training, which makes it difficult to spam build police stations when you have the credits.

  • It seems like the situations is getting worse and i might just fail but then it just stops counting downScreen Shot 2020-06-05 at 5.39.51 PM.zip

Recall your units, Let these calls pass and play only the ones that don't require platform ladders. I highly recommend getting 2 Platform Ladders in your set-up as soon as you can.

Take a screenshot of all your stations with the vehicles in them so I can a better look of what's going on.

Hello rescuenut93, thanks for your response. Unfortunately, all of the 4 missions that I have are related to platform ladders. It was only 1 at first, so i just ignored it but then after 2 more missions, another one came and then another one so i ended with all of them. I managed to delete one station so i got the money back and build a platform immediately. Anyways, thanks for your help! I have learnt not to rush the game!

    Thanks! Ryan

  • Thank you very much! Do you think that I could just buy Utility unit instead of heavy rescue? What are cases that you need manpower? Do you just assign them to that vehicle?

I would send the extra manpower to any major call. If you set your AAR Alarm & Response Regulations to having Utility trucks and not Heavy Rescues you can do that. If you need help doing that let me know. Utility trucks are cheaper so I would recommend using them.

    Thanks,
