Medium Police Stations

  • I'm putting in some new patrol base locations and in doing some basic research I'm finding myself stuck in the gap between the small and regular cop shops. Small stations can only support 6 vehicle but a regular has cells etc that in the UK are increasingly only a feature of large, regional custody centres. The Patrol Base I've particularly been looking at is a combined RPU and ARV location and it would need more than 6 vehicles a shift but is a secure compound. This is probably the way policing is headed as they look to cut costs?


    Should there then be a medium nick that offers say 10 to 15 vehicles at 75,000 credits? No cells or expansions. What do you call think?

    You don't have to build cells at the station. I have a normal station with 20 units but 0 cells

  • Yep that's true and if the real life station doesn't have them I don't are them. It's just that small stations are increasingly been closed and consolidated into non customer facing patrol hubs with no custody provision and I think the game may need to move in that direction. For now I just don't add cells...

  • I think when/if there is a future police update and we see new vehicles or mechanisms of play there should be something like you've mentioned above. As my local force too has very few 'police stations' but rather operations base/centres and response hubs. Maybe the new building this 'medium police station', should be a 'police operations centre' and be used for the vehicles ARV,DSU and hopefully RPU if its added and missions required.

  • I've mentioned this before on the US side before i swapped to the UK version, But i feel now is a good time to bring it up again.
    A police expansion for fire stations. It would contain no cells, but allow say 3 or 4 patrol cars to be based out of it. This is now becoming a very common thing in the UK, with Suffolk now having 13 Combined fire and police stations for safer neighborhood teams being based in office space in retained fire stations. Suffolk is now planning to Renovate Princes St station which is whole-time to merge with the towns police station, where it will act as a response hub.
    This would greatly help players in rural counties where Services are beginning to share buildings to cut costs IRL, can also cut costs in game by merging the 2 buildings into one expansion.

  • This thread is confusing me. You'd like police stations, but without the cells? We have both small and regular sized police stations to use within your setups and neither require cells to be built within them which means they could be used for a whole host of roles. Please help me out here.

  • If im being honest. The whole Police building system needs a redo, its been a problem for a while. Small stations can only have 6 units, Where many policing bases without cells have many more than this.
    On the other hand a full size station, Doesnt come with cells as standard... So you buy it, and cannot arrest ANY Criminals for 7 days while you build ONE Cell. A weeks wait to arrest and book 1 prisoner, for every station. I feel an overhaul of 3 types of station is needed.


    Small Station. Upto 10 cars and no cells
    Policing Base. 20 Cars, Access to Specialist cars such as dogs, firearms and TSG Style units.
    Regional Base. 30 Units, 3 to 5 Cells as Standard with More to be built over time.


    Then an additional Extension for Fire stations to allow upto 5 Standard patrol cars to be based there with no cells or specialist units. This is for those with rural setups where counties have merged buildings to save costs.


    Of course values Etc can be tweaked but this proportionally makes sense, and would be much better suited than the current system which I personally feel is difficult to start out as you cant book anyone into custody for a week, therefore making nearly nothing from calls.

  • Agreeing with what the above says, however the only thing I suggest is a new building perhaps 'custody suite', this being a dedicated cell only no vehicle building. I'm aware of regional custody suites of about 50-55 cells, I'm not sure if this is viable in game or perhaps maybe 30 cells max is more likely. I also lean towards the idea of a medium station being some kind of ops base for specialist units as mentioned above. Lastly, with this custody cell you could get the occasional mission 'custody suite panic button' or words to that effect...

  • Just use your imagination. Build a big police station, delete that one free police car or use it as a custody van with it´s own Graphic. Build 30 cells, give the building the right name and you have your custody building. Or join an alliance that can build prisons. Everything is possible with the right location, right name and right Graphic.
    Here 4 Example u have a custody van,arv,IRV,Water cannon, MET EOD, RE Bomb squad, unmarked police cars and Forensic collision Investigation.

  • I understand what your saying, and I feel that a lot of players are already using this type of method. However, its only temporary and a lot of players will be looking for a permanent solution. Plus, wouldn't it just be nice to have the correct buildings... I think this should be considered in the future, I'm not saying an immediate fix or update but say the next substantial 'police pack/update'.

  • Once the rest of ambulance is finished we will start on a police update as it’s overdue. This will include buildings, trainings, and units.
