Ah the tech rescue expansion is up for fire
The tech rescue extension is used to enable the spawning of Vehicle trapped in flood water (both variants), but there are no special vehicles from the fire station, so there's no education required in regard to tech rescue.

Does this mean the towable boat isn't meant to be the Water Rescue Unit? or am I misinterpreting what you've said
It is. It’s just not fully implemented with Part 1. Part 2 will see specific missions for it. Further down the line there will be a comprehensive technical rescue update for fire but that’s not part of the SAR update

Oh thank god I didn't waste credits and such on mine then haha, do trailers just use up swap body spaces too?

You can create custom categories in ARRs.

Not quite, bottom right is custom ARR categories. Groups are specific units

Hi, not sure if this is possible or maybe in the pipework.
However it'd be cool to have an option for the new SAR buildings work off of river POIs as well for spawn areas, that'd allow people like me who are in metropolitan areas like London to use them more realistically than having a broken down boat for Tower RNLI to deal with in the middle of Regents Park 😂
I have to say I'll find a way to use it anyway because it looks cracking l, but (pardon the pun) I'm sure there's other people in my boat!

The trailers: graphics wise, will the car 'drags' the trailer image behind them,
or it'll work like the PODs: you have to make a diffo graphic for the with-trailer version?
Currently seems to be that both units, the 4x4 and trailer in the case of fire, show at the same time like it's being dragged.
The update been out a day now, has anyone discovered how any/all of the trailers work? (both graphics wise and in general)

Not sure if this is a bug or deliberate but the home response locations don't so up on the lifeboat college even though the coastguard commander is available and needs training

Ah fair enough, it turns out it is just a standard slot it takes up, I was confused thinking it needed a swap body space but I had just forgotten to expand my station

For fire, you can send the 4x4 on its own with both displaying as separate units, but upon sending the trailer it automatically sends the 4x4 with it, I've not found any issues with it - cancel the trailer and it cancels the 4x4 and vice versa. I assume this is how it works with CG and such

Another small bug. The station filter on the map lists "Lifeboat station" which will also display all "coastguard rescue station." Not sure if this was picked up already though.

Could the Spawn area have 1km and 2km added would make it a little better for some. I'm just thinking more for the narrower parts of firths and river mouths. 5km has lots of land covered in some places.
Not a major problem for me more a bit annoying.

Loving the update so far, but thinking that 2x ILB for investigate flare is maybe too much, or maybe allow other lifeboat units to respond like Heli or ALBs might help too, struggling with the number of ILBs for a semi-realistic set up and may need to add second ILBs to stations that actually only have 1.

So for this are we going to be looking at things like RSUs with boats a large enough number of RSUs do carry boats or at least some advanced form of water rescue gear?
