A mobile air unit is used to provide additional breathing apparatus at a large incident, it is referred to as many things all over the world including: Light and air unit, BASU, OSU just to name a few.

Doesn't fly just helps us breathe just like the fine people said above. Around here they seem to be called cascade, rehab.

in the UK they are known as breathing apparatus support units, operational support units, special equipment units etc

Seeing the above answers, it seems like you get the hang of what they are. Another example would be the city of Pittsburgh's Bureau of Fire's "M.A.C." units, or "Mobile Air Compresser" units. They carry machines that firefighters can use to refill their SCBA's and get back into action. They also care spare / additional SCBA cylinders.

And most places they aren't a separate truck, instead just a cascade system on a Heavy Rescue, Rescue Pumper, or even an Aerial.
