Als Equipment for Storage on Fire apparatus

  • Maybe the OP is suggesting something like the Police medic in the uk ver where they can apply basic first aid if you will therefore starting but not completeing the treatment basically an interim till the resource(s) required arrive on scene

It is already taking place as i said. The patient is assigned to an engine that arrives.

The engine can only treat 10% of the patient till an ambulance arrives. I believe what the poster is asking (and I agree would be nice) is having ALS trained people on an engine that can basically operate as a fly-car. Can’t treat 100% of the patient but not transport. Happens with many many FDs in North America

At the moment ALS as it stands doesnt need training , in the UK ver you can train co-responders (tho they only worked on the co-responder vechile not all) , they could do something like that for this as an option for people who may want to do that route

The issue being discussed here is normal fire apparatus gives first responder level treatment (10%). The option is there to train fire personnel to ALS level but they need to be on the engine/ambulance combo unit to be used to the ALS level. Those units do exist in the real world but are very rare. The request here (as I understand it - could be wrong) is to be able to train fire personnel to the ALS level and have them perform to that level on a non-transport capable unit, which is very common in many parts of North America

Exactly Correct. The goal of this is so we can get fire apparatus to preform full patient care but obviously lack the ability to transport. So that by the time your transport unit arrives you. will just get a transport request and not have to wait for the transport unit to treat the patient completely. I think this could be done by adding ALS equipment onto an apparatus like we add hazmat or heavy rescue equipment to an apparatus. However trained ALS personal is an other great idea. In the end I don't care how it happens, but the game definitely needs to add the ability for fire apparatus to fully treat patients.

Exactly or at least treat the patients to a higher rate than 10%

  • So would be nice to have the ability to just treat I have recently started expanding in to socal and many departments use Medic Engines (the crew contains atleast 1 trained FF/PM) these units don’t transport by them self. If anything if they just made the ALS Medical training for Fire apperatus count for allowing a unit to function as a fly car it would be nice (this does not need to a equipment add on or an extension just an option for realism that if a person on the unit is trained (sort of like the Critical Care training on the UK version (the training is not required to make a unit work but if the crew is trained it allows the unit to treat critical care patients (look at the UK forum))) (it’s complicated)

  • Maybe have a BLS level training for Fire so they cannot transport but can still treat

The units do treat. If you look at your units prior to the arrival of an ambulance, the patients will show assigned to one of the other units on scene. Assuming that is why when you have 20 or 30 patients and all do not transport, they will show up as "patient treated" on your tally for the day.

the last 4 years I have been playing MC people have been asking for this feature, but nothing has progressed other than adding in new things that some don't even care about
