Looks like it just started

The difference between a platform and a quint in real life is the addition of water and a pump. The manpower is the same. It would be nice if the game could reflect this.
-
It would be nice when these new updates are released that there is a way to update units already owned.
I already have tactical rescue trucks, now I need to completely replace them all with new ones with boats, and the current ones have no trade in value or anything. It would be nice for this to be addressed. -
Ok......just some clarification for my troubled mind? I have played for going on 3 yrs and in that time have built out most of Florida now. However, I only have one (1) dispatch center. No issues with call generation. "If" I now add more centers will units still show up as closest in jurisdictions that each other. As an example Each Center has multiple counties and some counties stations are closer to areas but they are in another Center's area. Will the other units show up? Trying to stick with the Statewide Mutual Aid as it exists in Florida so I have resisted adding more centers because I was not sure how or if it allowed units to cross dispatcher center availabilities?. I hope that question is clear as mud and thanks for the answers in advance.
The game has worked fine with one, but the problem I am having now is when I go to that center to check extensions or units, those tabs never load and i am "assuming" that relates the huge amount of "stuff" assigned to that one dispatch center. All the other "tabs" in the center work?
Yes. Should recommend the closest units regardless of their assigned dispatch center

You sure about it transporting patients?

I suppose in rural areas the chief of dept might be there (opposed to a battalion chief) so maybe use the mcv for the chief instead of a BC
-
Interesting... I feel like I've had Foam Trailers not fulfill the requirement but maybe I'm crazy.
As far as Mobile Commands, in the US they are very rarely deployed. Missions such as:
Commercial Fire
Unknown Tanker Spill
Fire in an Office Building
Fire on Farm Medium/Large
Museum Fire
Etc.
Should not require an MCV. In the US most of these would be a simple Commercial Structure Fire response, which rarely requires an MCV. For those who are attempting realistic setups where there are only 1/2 MCVs in an entire region this extremely taxing.
I use Battalion Chiefs for Battalion chiefs and MCV for Division Chiefs or City Wide Tour Commanders to satisfy the MCV requirements

I find small fire stations work for most of my stations. Not many North American fire stations have more than 5 units. For the ones that do buy bigger. For the others don’t.
-
1. Build Police Station
2. Name police station KiCkApOo Highway Patrol
3. Change name of police car in station to KiCkApOo Highway Patrol 1
4. Fill in “Highway Patrol” in the own vehicle category section
5. Click “only dispatch vehicle as own class“
6. Click Save
Repeat 1-6 for new buildings. Repeat 2-6 for new units in existing buildings
Boom! Done!
Basically all of my units in 4 different cities with many unique fire/police/EMS vehicles have their own category, it’s not that hard or time consuming. Writing this took longer.

Did you spend any real money to get coins to use? I’ve been playing pretty regular and still a long way from Division Chief, however I do limit myself with dept specific realistic responses
-
I have the resources, but I am saying the resources required for this mission (other than the EMS element are absurd!
My latest reply was more aimed at Nigel and his Riot squad comment. I completely agree that it’s not very realistic to expect ARFF to travel between airports.
-
there is an option - if you also play on a mobile device - you can finish once a day watching a vid
Or send them to a staging area then dispatch them from there. Or click the button on your dispatch centre to only generate calls for the resources you have
-
AS long as it is optional and not mandatory I am ok with it.
100% agree it should be optional. It allows for players to add more realism which is something I think many of us strive for.

At the moment ALS as it stands doesnt need training , in the UK ver you can train co-responders (tho they only worked on the co-responder vechile not all) , they could do something like that for this as an option for people who may want to do that route
The issue being discussed here is normal fire apparatus gives first responder level treatment (10%). The option is there to train fire personnel to ALS level but they need to be on the engine/ambulance combo unit to be used to the ALS level. Those units do exist in the real world but are very rare. The request here (as I understand it - could be wrong) is to be able to train fire personnel to the ALS level and have them perform to that level on a non-transport capable unit, which is very common in many parts of North America
-
It is already taking place as i said. The patient is assigned to an engine that arrives.
The engine can only treat 10% of the patient till an ambulance arrives. I believe what the poster is asking (and I agree would be nice) is having ALS trained people on an engine that can basically operate as a fly-car. Can’t treat 100% of the patient but not transport. Happens with many many FDs in North America
-
I have multiple for the reasons stated above as far as Mission Control. And for realism.
-
I don’t mind this idea. An ALS fire apparatus that does not transport is WAY more common then a transport fire apparatus
-
Anyone who plays NYC will use tactical rescue trucks. The rest of the world I am not sure. But there is a use for them. Like it says above, don’t want them? Don’t buy them
-
Can also be used if you have side by side jurisdictions and want to keep units in their own area. You can have North Engines and South Engines and create the ARR for them and keep the North in the North and the South in the South
-
I’m fine with having incidents that require a lot like this. However compared to some other payouts/resources required the mentioned mission is VERY under paid or over resourced
