ALS equipment has been added to the game! However it takes up 20 storage space which i think is way too much. Heavy rescue equipment only takes up 10. I think they should reduce the storage space for ALS equipment to 10 or 5, anyone else have a take on this? You also cannot put the equipment on a platform truck or quint.

Very happy to announce that ALS equipment for fire apparatus was announced in this mornings dev update will be added to the game! Thank you to everyone that helped push this idea towards the devs!

Love this idea, id also like to see the ability to transfer patients over to the medical helicopter. Like an ambulance that is requesting a transport to the hospital to be allowed to transfer that patient to a medical helicopter that's on scene.

The issue being discussed here is normal fire apparatus gives first responder level treatment (10%). The option is there to train fire personnel to ALS level but they need to be on the engine/ambulance combo unit to be used to the ALS level. Those units do exist in the real world but are very rare. The request here (as I understand it - could be wrong) is to be able to train fire personnel to the ALS level and have them perform to that level on a non-transport capable unit, which is very common in many parts of North America
Exactly Correct. The goal of this is so we can get fire apparatus to preform full patient care but obviously lack the ability to transport. So that by the time your transport unit arrives you. will just get a transport request and not have to wait for the transport unit to treat the patient completely. I think this could be done by adding ALS equipment onto an apparatus like we add hazmat or heavy rescue equipment to an apparatus. However trained ALS personal is an other great idea. In the end I don't care how it happens, but the game definitely needs to add the ability for fire apparatus to fully treat patients.

I would think it would have to be an extension. Otherwise the game would not know you are sending an Engine with ALS capabilities. If that is the case, sending one would not be any different than a regular engine without some sort of extension that recognizes ALS capabilities.... Like Foam extension for example..
It wouldn't have to be an extension. It'll just be like how you can equip a ladder truck with Heavy rescue storage and it will act as an heavy rescue and ladder.

yes......true....but, i have found that with the addition of some of those "extras" the game begins to generate missions requiring them and then you can't manage because you don't have the resources. An example is the Traffic Control... it was said that if you don't activate the extension then missions won't generate of that type. It was added almost two years after I started playing and to put traffic control over 2/3 of Florida (which I cover) it would cost a huge amount. I did NOT activate the extension, yet every day I get dozens of missions I can't finish because they are requiring Traffic Control. No one has the time, desire nor the funds to go back and equip all stations to meet that extension.
I get what you're saying and I've seen that too, however this wouldn't be an extension, just more equipment, such as hazmat equipment and heavy rescue equipment. So it shouldn't effect the game like that.

I have 3 counties covered in Florida and I used 3 separate dispatch centers, one for each one. I use each dispatch "Create your own coverage area. Stations belonging to this dispatch center are considered for missions in the assigned dispatch center area" feature for each one. This allows for the dispatch center to make calls that only its units/stations can handle. It's very helpful because I don't have to send a unit that is 1 hour away across 3 counties just to complete one mission. That's just why I do separate dispatch centers, and because its realistic.

not all stations have ALS Engines either
True, so for those stations you just wouldn't equip the truck with ALS equipment.

Add a Fly-Car and tag it as a "Squad" or medic unit, or use an EMS Rescue. Then, you can send BLS ambulances for transport, as either the Fly-Car or EMS Rescue will follow to the hospital. The EMS 'Pumpulance' just doesn't seem to be practical for anything, IMO.
That still doesn't solve the problem of trying to get fire apparatus to be ALS. And I know a lot of people play the game realistically and not all stations have a fly car. Which is the whole reason storage was added in the first place, to allow a unit to be able to do multiple things.

There is already an ALS Engine in the game under the Ambulance vehicle list. Requires special training
That engine is an als engine that transports patients. It acts as an als ambulance and engine. They added that because some departments have a fire engine that transports people. That as said before is not what is being talked about. We are talking about trying to get equipment added to the game that will allow any fire apparatus to treat a patient without the need of an ALS ambulance.

For years now I have seen multiple users and players pushing for ALS fire trucks, such as ALS Engines, ALS Ladders, ALS Heavy Rescues ect. Nearly every fire departments in the United States run medical calls. In the US 64% of EMS services are provided by the fire department. We already have an ambulance extension to our fire stations however we lack the ability to send a non ALS ambulance to a call and begin treatment. For example, if my ambulance is out on an other call and I receive an other medical call in that area I can't send that stations fire engine to that call to begin treatment. With the addition of storage to trucks this leads us with a solution. We have heavy rescue equipment ,hazmat equipment, ect, but what we could add is ALS equipment. This equipment would allow whatever unit it is attached to, to treat patients without an ALS ambulance on scene. This would be very crucial for those times when your als ambulance is on an other call. This can also be crucial for Mass Casualty Incidents. In addition you could now send a unit with ALS equipment to a not as server medical call that maybe doesn't have a high chance of needing a transport. This would be key so you don't have to waste an ALS ambulance on a call that doesn't need transport. Im very interested to see what y'all have to say. I really think this would be a game changer to this game and something that almost every member has been waiting for.

Special Operations
EMS Squad
Support
TRT
Rescue(but you might call your “ambulances” this like me)

I think it would be a great idea to have a Heavy Rescue/Hazmat Truck added to the game. down here in Florida we have a truck that acts as both a heavy rescue unit an a hazmat unit. Its commonly knows as a special operations truck. I also know its very popular in other states. An other good unit to add would be an Hazmat Type 1 engine. A engine that acts like an type 1 engine and a hazmat truck.
-
Unfortunately I think it combines too many of the elements and would be seen by the devs as too easy to get around larger mission requirements. Having a single unit basically count as 4 things is too many. The devs seem happy to have 2 be the max.
Maybe just three or two then, like hazmat and heavy rescue
-
So its been on my mind for a while, and I noticed mission chief doesn't have a special operations truck. This truck would be a combination a heavy rescue, mobile air and light, as well as a hazmat truck and even a mobile command truck. These are very popular in Florida. Anyone else think this would be a good idea to improve realistic game play to the game. They look something like this.

Ok thanks. I don’t have the option on mobile for some reason. No matter what I do. Thanks again!

I noticed that I can’t build a prison anymore? Is anyone else having this problem?
