see this thread here PARAMEDIC SQUAD

If you want squads just rename heavy rescues tgey are virtually the same thing

Until this light duty rescue unit is added I was planning on creating a fire station and just removing the engine and just adding a heavy rescue to it problem is its an EMS headquarters where NOEMS keeps all of it 54 Ambos and a few Sprint units (fly-cars) in New Orleans they are called Sprint units because they can be dispatched and arrive on scene faster than an ambo although some times they are dispatched together along with fire because fire can run with BLS and assist at the scene with the EMTs and Paramedics.

The utility essentially fulfills that role. It just doesn't operate as an EMS unit.

Well then it doesn't fulfill the role plus the medics that run this unit are specially trained medics. The utility unit does not fulfill the role of this vechicle because of two things the utility unit only carries utility supplies while this unit carries almost everything you find on an ambo to provide limited ALS and it carries rescue equipment.

Right. I'm saying I'd like one of those but for the fire department like LACOFD runs. Where we're getting confused is in the terminology. Chicago Fire Department runs "Squads" that are heavy rescue vehicles (the big truck), while FDNY runs "Rescues" (still the big truck). However, LACOFD and many other departments run "Squads" that are the little trucks as you posted a picture of. All I'm saying is that this would help with realism, although the response requirements would have to be changed for certain missions (I.e. A building collapse should still require at least one heavy refuse in addition to these squads)

Oh now I see except the only problem is only EMS uses this type of rescue they are speciality trained for this unit.

I think we should have a rescue squad for the fire department before EMS.

Um we already do it's called Heavy rescue but the full name for the rig type is heavy rescue squad. yes I am referring to one that is like a fly car but but it's not heavy rescue it's a light duty rescue vehicle. I'll show a picture of what I exactly mean.[Blocked Image: http://www.gnofirephotos.com/O…r/NOEMS/NOEMS3190__1_.JPG]

Theres also a youtube video of it responding the description tells more about it just click on the red words it'll direct you to it New Orleans EMS- Paramedic Rescue 3190

Unknown to me if this has already been suggested before but I would like to see a feature where we can make EMS units drive around just like how we can make police units patrol. I want to add this feature because it would make the game more realistic as many departments let ambos and Fly cars patrol around the streets so they could be closer to a call and get to the call faster. Also I would like to see if we can get a paramedic rescue vehicle added to the game as a few departements have a specalized light rescue vehicle that is used for extraication for when it would be faster to dispatch this unit instead of a rescue squad from fire to arrive on scene. So far the only department I can think of that does this is NOEMS (New Orleans Emergency Medical Services)

In the U.K. our standards are that red signifies a rear of a vehicle. It's an offence to display a read light to the front of a vehicle and white to back.

We have blue across all emergency services which may need to exceed speed limits etc. Red lights are used to face back to warn traffic. A bit like the US traffic advisors some highway patrols have.

As to sirens, used to have two tone horns (hence the saying 'blues and twos') and some vehicles still use it. I know we use the new sirens because it varies and research shows people react more to the change of sound rather than the siren itself sometimes. If a siren slowly approaches you it's volume fades into ear shot and those not fully paying attention will not react to it. A change of hi-lo, wail and hyper help and a touch of bullhorn usually does the trick :)

yeah exactly if someone's not paying attention that surely would make them pay more attention.

yeah I think I also read that somewhere as well I think that's why in some of the cities over here the police department uses blue lights instead of the traditional U.S. red and blue. I know Michigan uses red and blue and some of Michigan's police cars just has a red bubble light on it some of the bubble red lights on the cars even date as far back as the 1950's.

This question has been bothering me for awhile and Google searching the question does not come up with the results I'm looking so I'm asking you guys for the answer or why you think the answer anyways here's my question why do european emergency vehicles use blues and twos instead of the emergency light scheme that is in the U.S. and this goes for the sirens as well since I did ask Blues and twos. Why do European Emergency vehicles use a different siren than what is used in the U.S. like why can't fire engines in this case appliances just stick a Q siren ( Q refers to a siren made by the Federal Signal company called the Federal Q2B) on them and use that instead of using just wail or yelp and very rarely but not widely used anymore the classic Hi-Lo? I'm sure that I'll get some answers on this forum that actually answer my question unlike Google in this case.

I have a new idea that I have been thnking about for quite sometime now the idea is that rigs will need to either be serviced, maintenanced or replaced after a long time of use, because no way can rig still be in running and in top shape like it just rolled off the assembly line when it's got a well over somewhere between 100,000 (160934.4 km) -700,000 miles (1126540.8 km) on it I mean theres no possibility that it can be running like it's brand new when it's got over 100,000 miles (160934.4 km) on it. So my idea is three things, one it would need serviced, two it needs some maintenance, or three it needs replaced. I feel this would lead to the next step of more realism to the game. Another addition to this idea would be that a unit could break down on the way to a call, it won't start or the unit to go to scene, or it overheats on the way to it, or maybe the brakes fail, or something on the lines of that or maybe don't have that possibility occur I couldn't care less if this part gets added or not, it's just a brainstorming idea.

In the U.K. at any Arson the police own the scene and criminal investigation. It's usually that the police forensic officer liases with the fire investigator to collate an evidential report. It's interesting that over the pond fire have investigative and arrest powers!

I find it interesting to but I think it's so it can take some workload off of the officers backs. I mean the Fire Marshal can even arrest you for lets say you gave someone a match book and that person you gave the match book sets a school on fire then they can arrest you for conspiring to commit to Arson if they trace that match book right back to you, because you gave them a match book and they just set a school on fire using it.

I would like to just point out that over here in the united states Arson investigation is done by fire department officials very and I mean very rarely will police ever do arson investigation over here now taking it from my area fire investigation is done by us firefighters after we clear the scene and or determine the cause is arson we hand it over to the State Fire Marshal and they will do their investigation and determine the exact cause. If it turns out to be arson then they will work with police to do some testing samples (if you ever watched a crime show you know what I'm talking about) and if they find the person the Fire Marshal arrests the suspects involved with it. The only time I can think of police actually getting involved with fire investigation is when there has been a body discovered and if they think it's a possible Homicide, Murder, or Crime Scene like maybe a drug lab exploded , found or something like that.

I like that idea as well even though around my area only the sheriff and our police department uses K-9's for narcotics, bomb sniffers, search and rescue, and chasing and biting suspects.

Well since I was informed we would be getting a K-9 unit I'm thinking the bomb missions can involve them too as k-9's not only sniff out narcotics they help with search and rescue and they even sniff out bombs.

By all the other do you mean just patrol, copter, and SWAT? I agree, the fire department have so many vehicles that police needs K-9 and bomb squad

I agree the police needs these new vehicles and I can't wait for them to be added. And yes that's what I meant when I said all the other police units.

I have a new unit idea that can go with the police side of the game how about a Bomb Squad truck I have seen a swat vehicle, helicopter, police cruisers added to the game but why not add a Bomb Squad truck to the police unit list. Which would require some newer missions to be added as well like maybe bomb threat can be added to the game and it can we triggered as a false alarm while the units are on scene or it can be expanded to a confirmed bomb I'm thinking the mission would require some fire engines, ambulances, fly cars or just an ambulance and I'm thinking that some police cruisers need to be on scene as well. Also another mission that can go along with this is an explosion I don't really know what can be added to this mission to make it sound better but I know it should require a Bomb Squad to arrive. Let me know how you guys feel about this.

As well it could be due to one way streets. Having all of Manhattan filled with stations I quite often ask why units take a specific route then I realize the streets in areas are only one way.

Especially through downtown Manhattan the two streets that run pass Times Square (which ones of them is Broadway) They are one way apperently New York thought this can help with traffic to help keep traffic congestion low by having mostly one way streets or they just thought that having one way streets would be funny to piss a bunch of people off. I don't really know why they actually do this. All I know is that most of the city has one way streets just like how New Jersey does it this way as well. New Jersey they have it really messed up they have a highway with like 8-10 lanes of traffic and it still gets backed up to where you are barely moving a snails pace sometimes, most of the time you are sitting in traffic for 5-10 minutes before you can even move.

In the UK a train crash would require investigation by the relevant railway investigation authority. Until they formally attend and take ownership of the incident, the location is a crime scene and the police would have the responsibility of containing this. I can only imagine in America there would be the same sort of working principle.

This mission would work well for a Major Event.

Yeah in America we handle it like a hazmat if it's a freight train and not a passenger train. It happens quite often over here in the U.S. unfortunately. But then we turn it over to EMA or EPA and I believe but not 100% certain they then turn it over the company that owns the locomotive involved then they do an investigation on what caused it.

As I said. The game doesn't have realistic fire behavior or the chemical reactions needed to make this a viable option for the current game. It doesn't matter if it is more efficient or not in real life. And on the portion of making it more realistic, it can be done with renaming like I said.
Although I am interested to see how it is implemented with the air port in the future.

Except theres a couple of flaws with that logic that the game doesn't take in effect real life tactics and fire behavior because where my department is an engine can do everything from vehicle extrication to hazmat our engines at the station carry the jaws of life we have hazmat decon equipment on board the engine we can take care of hazmat without a hazmat specialist truck because EMA gets called in to survey if they need to call the EPA forr either a large or small incident. Where I'm getting at is basically if that logic were true then there would be no point in actually playing the game because all calls except for police can be handled by an engine a truck and a battalion. The other units were added to make the game more entertaining and challenging and adding thre foam unit to the gamew will just add to this.
