Realistically speaking, almost every fire department in the U.S. provides medical services to their communities. Many of which do not have ambulances of their own. I believe that you should be allowed to add medical equipment storage to all fire stations regardless of if they have the ambulance extension or not. But, the treatment they can give with the medical equipment is BLS, so if there is a patient who needs ALS care, the bar on the patient will stay up about 60% and an ALS ambulance will need to be there in order to bring the bar fully down and ready for transport.

I have recently came across a problem. In the area that I am building in, I don't have truck companies, so I have to add a ladder equipment to the type 1 engine at most stations. However, all the engines in the area are also wildland urban interface engines. So, I want to add wildland equipment to each of those as well. It would be awesome to be able to upgrade the storage capacity on each apparatus. Like, maybe 10k for an upgrade in equipment storage on certain apparatus or something around that. Wildland urban interface engines are VERY common in California. They all have wildland capabilities and most have ladders as well. It would be great if I could either upgrade equipment capacity on a specific type of apparatus which would be a game changer. Or, there could also be a separate vehicle called the wildland urban interface type 1 which would be pretty cool too. Either way, I would just like to be able to have a ladder and wildland equipment too.

Have you edited any units to not show the the alarm and response regulations? There’s a tick-box on the unit edit page.

The system will also select the closest as the crow flies, so if a unit is physically closer but the wrong side of a large river, it will still select that one instead of one slightly further away but with much less travel time.

I have not edited any units to not show it. All of the calls that I have gotten occur in the city, the station down the block has 3 battalions, and none of the battalions are sent, but instead, a station from a completely different county 10 minutes away has a battalion coming. Even with one battalion. It will most likely send a battalion from far away. It makes no sense.

Make sure that your battalion's are "Status 2". I found that they sometimes ended up "Status 6" or unavailable. and make sure that you have enough staff to fill them. I know its tedious work but I found more success making sure all my battalion's to be staffed by 1 rather than 3.

They all are. I checked all of them, and they all have sufficient staffing, but alarms and regulations is still sending units 10 minutes away when theres a battalion 2 minutes away.

It is the cost of playing the game I guess. In real life I don't know of many Police departments that have a S&R team..Generally it seems Fire Takes the lead supported by PD

It really depends on the region. Almost every county in California has sheriff based search and rescue and I would assume it’s the same for a lot of other surrounding states. It would be a very nice additional extension and feature to the game that is actually realistic for a lot of states. I don’t know where you live that doesn’t mainly have sheriff or separately running SAR which is strange to me, but like I said, it’s not going to be the same everywhere, but as you can see from the photos, they do exists.

I’ve recently started using the alarms and regulations which has been very helpful for me. However, the problem right now, is that a lot of the times, I have a battalion very close to the calls, and it sends a battalion that’s half and hour away. In addition, when I have multiple battalions in one station, it only dispatches one and goes to the next closest station.

I am suggesting that there's a tab inside of each station that says "mutual aid". In this tab, it will look just like the units tab, but maybe only allow units that are appropriate for that station, but any vehicle of the respective categories of agencies can do mutual aid and replace that unit temporarily. When the units that were busy finish up their call and return to the station, the mutual aid unit/s will automatically return back to their station.

This feature can add a lot of realism to the game. In my area at least, all agencies work together in helping each other out when they are handling large incidents. For example, my city had a 2nd alarm structure fire. There were about 4 empty stations. Three of our neighboring departments stayed at a station in the city and filled in spots for any further calls.

A lot of more rural areas such as the Sonoma area may not have a type 1 or type 2 engine. A lot of them may just have type 3s or barely have any type 1s. I am proposing that perhaps the wildland engines can count as regular engines, because large agencies like Calfire do not normally have type 1s or type 2s unless under county contract. They respond to structure fires with their brush rigs. In my county, the volunteer departments use their brush rigs to respond to most fires or emergencies where they are needed, so it would really help if at least some of the wildland rigs could count as a standard engine for calls. I know there’s equipment I could’ve added to type 1 or type 2 engines, but it feels wrong using equipment instead of actually getting the extension. I don’t know if you guys could relate, but that just how I feel on that. But, on that note, all I want is for wildland fire engines to count as type 1s or type 2s for regular missions.

All the police helicopters in my area serve multiple purposes. A lot of them have dedicated Bambi bucket for wildfires near by. And, most notably, for trauma patients, police helicopters assist with transporting ciritcal patients to local trauma centers or just hospitals in general. It would be nice to have these two additions to the police helicopter.

It would be pretty cool to have a commercial vehicle enforcement unit and accident investigation team. My state has both of these, and some local sheriffs departments. It would be a unique addition and would enable calls such as a vehicle into a ditch, pile up, motorcycle hit on highway, etc. For commercial vehicle enforcement, it would enable missions like reckless truck driver, suspicious truck load, unsecured truck load, etc.

I want to have mass casualty incident buses for each of my stations, but they require at least 20 ems stations per unit, which is very unrealistic for my area. The requirement should be lowered to about 7-5 stations. At least 1 EMS station in each of the counties near me has a mass casualty incident bus. The same thing goes for EMS operations support. EMSA provides these trucks for most EMS stations in my area. Very useful and the departments would use these units for a lot of the calls I have now in MissionChief.

I want to add search & rescue to my game, however, none of the fire departments in my area have a unit or staff dedicated to SAR. However, all of the sheriff’s departments have search and rescue teams. So, that would be awesome if an extension for SAR could be made available for police stations. In addition to that, you guys should add some more off roading vehicles for police, like a rescue, utility, if not already, utv & atv trailers, etc.
