| Name: | High Reach Extendable Turret (HRET) |
| Service: | Fire |
| Purpose: | Multi-role unit that can be used as a Pump Ladder/Rescue Pump with the ability to extend a turret up high to attack the fire similar to an ALP but unlike an ALP it can't be used in a rescue capability as its just a turret not a platform. I know it's very similar to the MFT however the MFT is massively different in size and usage to the HRET's used by fire services around the UK examples being Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside, and Cheshire but I'm sure many other services have them too. While an argument could also be made for it being similar to the CARP once again the difference would be that the CARP has a ladder platform that can be used to climb up and assist with vertical rescue or putting a fire fighter in a high vantage point. HRETs are just an extendable turret that can be raised up to put water on a fire from above. |
