I'm sorry but I just have to speak my mind here. This adds nothing to the game and doesn't even work with what the game is trying to be. Rescues are underused yes but is your heavy rescue going to be first in on a house fire, pull a line, and start fire attack? Like come on. Think logical here. Heavy rescues are used for technical rescue situations where specific equipment is needed. (I.E. Shoring, cribbing, extrication, dive, and hazardous materials some times) If you really want a rescue pumper just simply rename your rescue or your engine.

yes but i mean actually having a unit that you dont have to build spare bays at every station for

What unit would you have that you wouldn't need a bay for? Last time I checked spare units other than utility pick up trucks and cars are stored indoors. It makes no sense to have a half a million dollar rig just sitting outside, deteriorating until you need it and only to have it then not work.

If you where going to add that you would have to have SEVs(service exchange vehicle) or replacement rigs to cover the station will that unit is in for maintenance.

It's actually possible to do this right now. Buy a unit and place it code 6. If you wanna swap it out then set in in service and exchange units. I've done this for realism with my FDNY stations.

Also - Should SWAT cars Be able to respond to regular emergency's. Certainly in the UK they do. Anyone think different?

There is an easy way to handle this. Send em. Due to the fact that I am recreating departments across the US, I toss in SWAT units on my PD calls some times as they normally would. And to the fact of all of the controversy on how many people need to be in a SWAT truck. The SWAT units need to be divided into two different units. Have the SWAT truck which takes place of your large bear cats and armored trucks then have a tactical truck which is your SUVs and smaller vehicles. Add in a couple other type of High Risk police calls with this and you'll have the amount of calls that you can need the two at different times.

There are quite a few of us that I know would love this feature, myself especially, but I think the issue with this is that the mapping is through a third party. This is just personal thought and I could be completely wrong, which I hope I am. The issue with this ties to the issue of separating ground and water as discussed in other threads.

So I've noticed a couple times today now that when I click my alarm button I have set up for one ambulance, it sends my Air Med instead of the 13 other ambulances that are closer. Now to put this in perspective I currently have an Acute Asthma in New York city. I have 8 ambulances available in the city ranging from 1 minute away to 6 minutes. When I clicked my alarm for one ambulance it decided to alarm my Air Med which is stationed in Waukesha, Wisconsin, with a 5 hour 5 minute response time. I know I am not the only person this has happened to. Yesterday it happened to one of my alliance members as well. I would attach a screenshot but it doesn't thoroughly show the issue as I could just click on the units before the screenshot.

They haven't been updated because there has been no need. Other sections of the game have needed large updates and more growth. PD is the biggest culperate of this. No one in our alliance or people that we talk to have issues with the way the hospitals are. And if we took the hospitals out you get rid of EMS, and if you get rid of EMS you get rid of high paying Fire calls or high paying police calls. It's a needed part of the game that works perfectly fine.

the thing you have tl remember there's more than just tge ED OR ER beds avaliable in a hospital i know here in australia if your a kid with a broken bone you dont sit in the er or ed for 5 hours you sit in the er or ed for 15-20 minutes than you get sent to xray then straight to the children's ward to get a cast and that. A hospital has more than 30 beds.

I know our hospital has 12 emergancy beds for thing like ambulance intakes and serious things,10 emergency department rooms with 1 bed and 3 patient chairs and thats not including the 2 childrens ward emergancy beds plus all the seats in the waiting room the 2 emergancy surgery rooms with patient prep rooms (4 patients2 in surgery 2 preping or finished) the helicopter receiving/transfer rooms plus intensive care

Yes. Every hospital is like that but you are thinking way to logically and way to technical. This game isn't that advanced. Think simple and that comes down to what is in the game.

Like I said the time in hospital should consider the injury type a nose bleed 15 minutes but a car crash should be at least 1 hour to 12 hours

Fifteen minutes for an ER trip? Please tell me where this miracle hospital is so I can go there. Even for just the simplest illness of a flu or when you break a bone, you run the chance of an hour being your minimal time in the hospital. Half the time for just being a walk in patient you have to wait an hour to be seen. Then they have to do test or take actions to help you. The billing in almost every case can take close to thirty minutes itself.

I know this but it would make the game feel a little bit realistic with the unit in the game more for realistic value it doesn't necessary need to actually do much more than an engine can do but in real life it actually it's known to be more effecient to use a Foam pumper/ Foam Tender on a class A or Classs B fires it's been proven to be effeciant to use on industrial fires.

As I said. The game doesn't have realistic fire behavior or the chemical reactions needed to make this a viable option for the current game. It doesn't matter if it is more efficient or not in real life. And on the portion of making it more realistic, it can be done with renaming like I said.

Although I am interested to see how it is implemented with the air port in the future.

Foam pumpers and tenders are renamed engines and water tankers. In the game there is nothing special about foam. The game doesn't take into effect real life tactics and fire behavior.

As well it could be due to one way streets. Having all of Manhattan filled with stations I quite often ask why units take a specific route then I realize the streets in areas are only one way.

From what I can tell there are different station amount requirements for the two. One is a version for those that don't have police stations yet, this is added in to have a variety of calls out there for newer members. Then there is one where it requires a squad car, this was added in to give a fire call for PD to respond to. Obviously I'm not a dev or a moderator but those would be my best guesses.

I'll bring up another thread about patient transports and transfers from hospital to hospital it is extremely common at my local hospital the ambulance helicopter does transfers every second day. Normally if you get listed as critical in my town you get flown to Sydney which is a three hour drive away or Wollongong a 1-1.5 hour drive for more specialist and advanced services not to mention the multiple intakes from the other hospitals further south from my town
Allowing transfers would allow you to finish a backup of calls then you and your alliance members could transfer to larger empty hospitals close by or hours away a tax would still apply

The fire department I work for (ALS certified) has a contract with our local hospital that if they fill their ED beds or they have a severe condition patient, they would call us to transport them to a different or more qualified hospital. It's also a common thing for private ambulance companies in the united states to do. It would definitely be something awesome to add into the game for those with one a hand full of stations and maybe one or two stations but I feel for players high up the leaderboards it would get a little to crazy to keep straight.

I agree with having it at Staff Captain. If you put it so that Captains can share then that's half of most of the alliances. As well when you get to Captain you are just now getting yourself in a well set area with your stations well set up. Were as Staff Captains pretty much are just churning out money left and right with the amount of units they should have.
