The options your asking for already exist in AARs.
This is what I mean. This option does not exist for any other unit types.

We're able to specify "Patrol Car OR Police Motorcycle" in the AARs, but we can't do the same with fire apparatus with a common purpose- namely, I would like to see an option for "Heavy Rescue OR EMS Rescue OR Utility". The agency I model has plenty of utility units and some EMS rescues but comparatively few heavy rescues. I'd like an option to have utilities or EMS rescues go instead through AARs instead of having to manually dispatch these units.
Thank you so much!
Much appreciated! I suppose with all these calls I’d just like the option to use brush units the way that some calls will say “platform truck can replace firetruck”. Thank you so much!
You can use the type 3 engine.
That’s true, but only because it functions as both a normal engine and a wildland engine. I just don’t see why we have to use type 1/2/3 when in the real world smaller brush trucks would be used.
I don’t understand why we can’t use wildland units for burning vegetation type calls.
Haven’t had any myself but I’ve had to send units to alliance callouts for this. Insane, yes, but fun nonetheless.
Hey! In my county (which I'm trying to simulate realistically), most if not all fire stations have 1 ambulance and maybe a fly-car. Some have more. Purchasing EMS expansions for each of them isn't really tenable. Maybe we could get an EMS expansion that only let us buy 2 EMS units that's cheaper and lets those of us with lots of small ems expansion needs simulate our areas more effectively. For stations with more EMS units, the original expansion would still stand and let us purchase more units than the small expansion. Just a thought.
Graphical
Fair enough. Like LACoFD1014, I wish it had something more to it but it's still interesting to have.
Units to respond with or without emergency lights
What's the use of this? Just graphical or does it have a purpose in game?
Same. Pretty frustrating.
Regardless of whatever statistics we cite, it’s not that important. This just isn’t really a feasible option and there’s a lot of other features that should absolutely come first.
just did a bit of research - a C-17 can carry 1 M1 Abrams (which is 55 tons) and a C-130 can carry 2, so you can figure out carrying cap. based on the numbers
You may have your aircraft wrong- the C-17 can carry 1 M1 (you were right there), and the C-5 can carry 2. The C-130 cannot carry an M1 as it is smaller than the C-17 and its cargo hold cannot accommodate an M1. The hold of a C-130 is about 40 feet long, 10 feet wide, and 9 feet high. A quick look at the internet says that the average fire engine is about 35 feet long, 9 feet wide, and 9 feet high. It would be a tight fit- and platform trucks wouldn’t fit, as they’re taller and often longer. Now, let’s look at the C-17. At 88x18x12.5, we could fit 2 type 1 fire engines or a single aerial aboard. That’s still not much on a fire where airlifting apparatus is necessary, impressive as it is. So now we turn to the C-5- at 121x13.5x19, it’ll be possible to fit 3 type 1 engines or 2 smaller aerials. Obviously very few departments have access to aircraft capable of lifting a single fire engine, and there are VERY few situations where airlifting apparatus makes sense. I’d would be fun to have, but I don’t think it makes sense for us to add.
If you have ambo extensions in your fire stations, then no.
I have 2 but not sure they are worth having anymore as I guess you can have a Building Complex now.
What you could do is just leave them as basic ambulance stations and then train the people from the combined stations so you at least have some specialized EMS staff without spending as much money just for 2 standalone stations.
An EMS Academy would be worth it *only if you have standalone ambulance stations*. If you have combination Fire/EMS stations, then just use the fire academy, it has the same lessons but you cannot teach stand-alone EMS personnel.
That's also a good one. I hadn't thought of that, and they do perform a similar role on the fireground. It's not 100 accurate, but it does represent the mission well enough! Thanks!
That’s a really interesting concept! I can see this being useful for international task forces as well, especially if the devs implement that USAR vehicle request However, I think 8 vehicles is a bit much. C-27Js definitely can’t carry that much, and even C-130s would likely struggle beyond 2 or 3. I think 3 vehicles would be much more realistic. It’s also possible that it could accommodate more small vehicles than large (for instance, 4 Type 5-7 brush units, 2 type 1 engines, or only 1 heavy rescue or platform truck.)
Implementation would definitely be interesting.
Fair enough! Thanks.
