Training Course - Urgent Care

  • Similarly to critical care, urgent care is a growing area of specialisation for paramedics and other healthcare professionals in the UK. The paramedic profession itself is moving away from big scopes of practice in trauma care and focussing on urgent care. Lots of trusts are adapting to this bringing in Urgent Care Practitioners, a version of an advanced clinical practitioner. Often nurses and paramedics. They could be used in game by allowing players to train staff in Urgent Care. This would allow Urgent Care staff in RRVs to treat and discharge at scene for patients of c3 and 4. Like in real life. Obviously this could give a credit bonus as an alternative to transport. Not only is this realistic but means that at times such as mass casualty, hospitals aren’t completely flooded and players can reserve beds for the most critical patients.

This is in game as critical care basically

  • Personally I'd say this is not required in game.

RRVs have the ability to deal with certain patient codes already and IRL they would still deal with C3 and C4 codes.

We already have Critical Care training available and adding anymore would in my opinion unnecessarily complicate things.

If we added urgent care then we'd need to consider courses like SWAMP training etc.

Instead of further qualifications I think we just need the current units to have added abilities and benefits such as CFR, FR and GP vehicles to make them more useful.

I stress this is my personal opinion.

  • Ye of course, I see where you're coming from.
