I read an old topic here regarding the tiller ladder and a couple people mentioned it being a pod issue in the UK. Couldn't find anything about pods on Google so if anyone in the Fire service in the UK could explain this to me that would be great. Thanks!
Question about Pods

Can you explain yourself a bit more clearly? Do you mean the prime movers?
-
Pods are transported on a large vehicle, each pod carries different equipment or can be for different purposes such as a High Volume Pump, if you look at the High Volume Pump and USAR modules on here it explains what each carries, although this is Norfolk Fire and Rescue it is a national standard across England https://www.norfolk.gov.uk/saf…esponse/equipment-gallery
USAR module on prime mover
High Volume Pump on prime moverAlso different fire services may have other pods such as welfare module or breathing apparatus support module but those vary, as I said above HVP and USAR pods are the same across all services that have them

These were all distibuted by the government in response to 9/11. Hence the '53 plates.
Incident response units stay with the curtainside body, and every county has one (i think) -

Incident response units stay with the curtainside body, and every county has one (i think)I think some were scrapped but they as you say are also part of National Resilience (formally New Dimensions), same goes for DIM units.
I also forgot to mention, another national pod is the Mass Disrobe and Mass Rerobe pods. If you are interested to learn more about National Resilience here are some links.

Smaller Brigades are easier, as they only have 1 or 2. DOing London now, trying to work out where they go
