In Service/Out of Service Alliance Notification, Rig response breakdowns, Tow Wreckers

  • Three ideas,

    1. A button in settings to allow other people alliance members in chat when you take a vehicle out of service for any reason and likewise when you place them back in service. Can serve as a roleplay feature.

    2. A button in settings to allow players to have random vehicle breakdown either in station when dispatched or while in mid response to call from any distance challenging the player to dispatch another unit in its place. This can also be used as a roleplay feature. And if this call is requesting mutual aid the other alliance members can see an alliance vehicle breaking down. Plus the vehicle could also break down in return to station thus bringing a third idea into play.

    3. A Tow Wrecker, When a vehicle breaks down a tow truck is dispatched to recover broke down vehicle. Also could be used for MVA's and whatnot.w

  • These are not too far from realism.

    1. In our county ((and a few of the neighboring counties)), the dispatchers have an evening and morning announcement. The announcement includes all apparatus out of service, important county meetings, safety updates and any adverse weather conditions. If a function cannot be envisioned for this, just have someone act as the radio operator(s) for your alliance. This also gives them the job of "note taking", aka, creating RP style incident notes. Station owners would just alert the radio operator(s) to apparatus they have out of service in the game chat, Discord, TeamSpeak or other means of communications.

    2. In BIG cities and even in the rural cities, your apparatus breaks down half the time due to upkeep, training, service, etc. There is already a function in the game to place a certain piece of apparatus OOS when you look at the apparatus inside the station. However, having a function where certain apparatus would be taken out of service at random intervals would be realistic and shouldn't be too hard to program.

    3. Tow trucks are a great thing to First Responders. However, they are not First Responders themselves UNLESS they have training to be one. For instance, Police departments can have tow trucks that are used to impound offending vehicles. NOW, Tow Truck Operators do have A LOT on their plate, both when responding to a scene and when on scene of emergencies, as they are expected to get on scene with due regard the same way as the police, fire or Medical Services, are always on the road at scenes, having to watch traffic responding to the scene and while on scene, and have to do paperwork with all agencies that were at the accident both for their company and for their agencies. However, since this is a game about first responders. The admins will want to focus more on Fire, Police and EMS before moving on to the other agencies and services.
