RIT Rescue Training

  • I'm really not sure If this defeats the prupose of Rescue Engines, But who likes the idea of RIT Rescue Training?

"A firefighter assist and search team (FAST), also known as a rapid intervention team/crew/dispatch (RIT/RIC/RID), is a team of two or more firefighters dedicated solely to the search and rescue of other firefighters in distress. FAST shall have no other operational assignment during an incident. Multiple alarm fires may require multiple FAST/RIC teams." - Google Definition

This could potentially go along with the recent idea of USAR/Technical Rescue. Or have this training added to Rescue Engines, Quints, Heavy Rescues, Type 1's or any Fire Apparatus.

Or.. Would RIT Rescue Training and Technical Rescue Unit/Training be the same?

Anyone else know if RIT and USAR are the same or not?

Besides new units for all services, I feel we should try to implement more training courses like we have been for EMS lately to the Moderation Team.
