London Critical Care Setups

  • Hey!,

So since the new medical update has dropped, I've been trying to add in more CC to my london setup, but I can only think of APPs that really suite this position, but there isnt also alot of information on where these guys are based so I only have a couple. What does everyone else use as Critical Care units?

  • I use my crit care units like APP yes but i call the FRU (Fast Response Unit) as that is what they call them but ye they are like crital care units and you dont have to have them in cars you can have them in ambos at times or hems cars etc

I was debating making RRVs Critical Care, but I'm not quite sure.

  • In london I would have the APPs and Air Ambulance Response cars as critical care, not regular rrv's.

That's what I have at the moment, but there isn't enough APP & HEMS to cover the demand for CC.

  • Have the two Air ambulances at Northolt and RLH and set the stations to 'inactive' this will mean you dont get any calls requiring 'HEMS'. train the helicopter personel in critical care and then the two HEMS units will be able to treat critical care too.

If this doesnt help then you may need to research about specialist doctors based out of hospitals in response cars, although I dont know much about this myself.

Or you could use Some HART or EPRR Units as Critical care units too

    Hopefully that should help you!

  • Not to sure about London, but in the East Midlands we have EMICS, which are volunteer doctors. They are like a HEMS RRV, so maybe search for critical care doctor organisations in London.

  • This is a good shout, thanks! I used to have EPRR units as Critical Care until I found out they are more "Command/Tactical" than a emergency care kinda unit. I will do that for HEMS and I'll look into HART, thanks!
