What is the difference between a police unit and a sheriff unit?
Diffirence between police unit and sheriff

Both work as patrol cars to my understanding. Sheriff units are a separate requirement and sheriff units Can’t transport criminals to jail cells.
-
Nothing to do with the game, but in some northern states, the sheriff works for the court and handles warrants. In most states, the sheriff is elected and is the top cop for a county and the sheriff's deputies handle patrol.

In the game, they are supervisors under the wrong name. In real life the only difference is they respond county wide instead of in a municipality. Just have them be supervisors and hopefully the developers realize the mistake and change the name to supervisor.

Best bet is to just think of the sheriff as a supervisor type role. There is really no difference in real life other than jurisdiction between the two options we have in the game.
They need to make a way to not have missions spawn that you can't complete when they release new ones though. Gotta wait to train sheriffs now.

Right - and in some urban areas we have a Judicial Marshall's Office which takes care of the warrants / evictions - so that is where I will put my sheriffs.

RIGHT!!!!!!! I only have one classroom and already have a swat class going, so it's going to be 10 days before I can complete a sheriff course, aka 10 days of missions just sitting there unless I drop a bunch of coins into the school. Poor planning at it's finest.
