• I have an idea for a new unit to be added maybe a foam unit can be added to the game. My idea is that instead of having a type two fire truck it can be named changed to Foam Pumper/ Foam Tender or something on the lines of that or it can be just added to the game as a new vehicle. I would appreciate some feed back on this idea. I feel this would be a great addition to the game for us players that have departments in the United States that actually use Foam Pumpers/ Foam Tenders to help provide some fire surpression to some Class A and Class B fires a department like the FDNY they converted some old engines into foam pumpers by adding a foam containment tank on it in the engines hose bed.

Edit: I like how people just randomly dislike something but don't say why they dislike it. Thanks to everyone that actually replies to threads and not just randomly dislike it and say why they don't like it.

  • The next opportunity an individual foam unit will be considered is when we look at airport fire fighting. It's on our list to look at and add in future. As Voller said, there's no current benefit of a foam unit. That's not to say in the future one won't come around but currently it would not have much purpose.

  • Foam pumpers and tenders are renamed engines and water tankers. In the game there is nothing special about foam. The game doesn't take into effect real life tactics and fire behavior.

I know this but it would make the game feel a little bit realistic with the unit in the game more for realistic value it doesn't necessary need to actually do much more than an engine can do but in real life it actually it's known to be more effecient to use a Foam pumper/ Foam Tender on a class A or Classs B fires it's been proven to be effeciant to use on industrial fires.

  • They are all gone from around here. Rochester had foam units in some stations but in the restructure they vanished. Now only the airport has foam plus the suburbs around have foam in 20-30gal cells on their Pumpers and/or Quints. To make foam in the game they would really need to allow us to put specifications on the truck like pump size, water carried, and foam. Then we wouldn't have foam units in places that don't waste money on a designated truck. As it is we have to have designated mobile air units that are not common in many places and tankers are required depending on the call and not water source availability.

As I said. The game doesn't have realistic fire behavior or the chemical reactions needed to make this a viable option for the current game. It doesn't matter if it is more efficient or not in real life. And on the portion of making it more realistic, it can be done with renaming like I said.

Although I am interested to see how it is implemented with the air port in the future.

Except theres a couple of flaws with that logic that the game doesn't take in effect real life tactics and fire behavior because where my department is an engine can do everything from vehicle extrication to hazmat our engines at the station carry the jaws of life we have hazmat decon equipment on board the engine we can take care of hazmat without a hazmat specialist truck because EMA gets called in to survey if they need to call the EPA forr either a large or small incident. Where I'm getting at is basically if that logic were true then there would be no point in actually playing the game because all calls except for police can be handled by an engine a truck and a battalion. The other units were added to make the game more entertaining and challenging and adding thre foam unit to the gamew will just add to this.
