Boats, RNLI, SAR, HART and such

It's a british thing, it's basically a mobile laboratory where fire officers can research substances. DIM vehicles carry a range of equipment, available 24/7, which will be deployed with the initial aim of delivering a substance detection, analysis and identification capability.

See, a large city's HAZMAT unit (for example, Chicago Fire Department) fulfills both of those capabilities. It seems that what the Brits are doing is frustratingly redundant.

It's to allow non major urban areas to have such resource without combining it into one unit. Helps with logistic things. You haven't then got to deploy it as part of HAZMAT if not required. It works out for us.

I just came up with a solution. Have a POI that is a boat launch, and boats not kept at docks could just be dispatched to the closest boat launch near the water rescue and then the boat would go through the water from there, or have the water rescues appear just at the boat launches. A water rescue unit or water rescue equipped truck could respond to the nearest water access point.
