Fire and rescue boats require it’s own station because they are placed as a “coast guard unit.” Like, the coast guard will have these stations. Not very realistic to have fire engines and MCV’s at a regular fire station. Regular fire stations do have water rescue boats which reflect on real life.

OK but many coastal fire departments have a marine unit. The marine unit has a quarters which is often referred to as a firehouse, sometimes the firehouse also houses land units, sometimes not. But that quarters of the marine unit should be able to house different types of boats. Just like a land firehouse can have Engines and Ladders, Marine firehouses should be able to have Fire boats and Rescue boats

In San Francisco, the station 35 have all three fireboats Guardian, Phoenix and St Francis just behind the station with the Engine.
We built both buildings side by side. I don't see the point here. -
exactly. I get the point but, once I get to that area where that becomes a predicament, honestly, I’m fine jus paying for an extra station on the side. *cough cough, unlike wildland....

If the "Rescue Boat" station is intended to hold a coast guard spot, then could it possibly be changed to Police Boat? The police boat unit could operate as a rescue boat, but could create an opportunity for some law enforcement missions. Missions like drug interdiction, harbor patrol, maritime security could be added with that change. Initially the "Fire Boat" station can be limited to fire boats only (I personally believe a small and a large variant for some realism) and an extension added for rescue boats. Fire boat would be able to respond for fire and EMS call types.

Yes, I see the point. I totally forgot about police boats. That would actually be a good new vehicle because a fire rescue boat does not really function as a police boat. It could function for the coast guard though. Coast guard does do "police" missions so the existing would work. I would also like to see a small and large rescue boat. For now, I guess you could name the rescue boat "police boat" but yes that is a good vehicle idea.
PS: Feel free to make a new thread because we like to keep the forum tidy and that means not posting something in a topic that hasn't been posted in, in 2-6 months.

So is there a reason that we cannot transfer people between fireboat docks?
