Dev Blog - Medical Update

  • You may have seen the recent post by missionchief on Facebook offering some information on a coming ‘large medical update’

    As usual I feel like the team are adding pointless or unnecessary features whilst ignoring more pressing issues.

    A community midwife vehicle? This isn’t something used by any UK ambulance service and is not an emergency service. Considering the team keep reiterating their opinions on non-emergency services in game like highways agency. I understand the thought process behind this but don’t feel it’s worth adding when there’s numerous other more pressing matters. And I certainly wouldn’t want this to be mandatory on calls like active childbirth.

    I have some reservations about the GP update, I personally use GPs in game already to provide response to the critical care requests that are not emergencies e.g. back pain or difficulty breathing, I treat it as a GP referral. If there was a similar system I would understand, as ambulances often refer patients directly to GP or OOHGP. However, they don’t convey patients to a GP surgery which is what concerns me, and if we have the clinic in game already how is this different?

    The specialist paramedic RRV should be interesting and I’m glad to see this being added.

    The specialties also look good and I hope the team decide to replace not add. These new specialties would be realistic but would cause issues in combination with the current unrealistic specialties in my opinion.

    As always, I appreciate the work of the forum team and dev team and know that you all work very hard to make the game enjoyable for everyone.

    Let me know what you guys think :)

  • Looking forward to most of this but not the community midwife, these are normally arranged by the family having the baby, not by the ambulance service. Nor are they a emergency vehicle. Probably gonna be a update that wont bring me back to the game and just annoy me as all these new wards are pretty much useless as it takes so long to get them running

    Totally agree.

    There is some variation in nomenclature and procedure around the country but the broadest definitions of why ambulances go to certain hospitals universally apply;

    DGH/TU, MTC, HASU, PPCI, Burns Unit, Burns Centre, Delivery Suite.
