If I see this correctly, sheriff units are needed at 3 police stations with the mission "warrant enforcement". Does this mean new players are expected to have purchased a 500,000 credit police academy to train sheriffs before they build their third police station?
Sheriff Unit and Training

It also really really sucks that now we have missions spawning we can't complete until sheriff training finishes

Hey,
To my knowledge, yes you will need sheriff units to finish that call. However, you can try request to your alliance to start a Sheriff course which means you don't have to afford an academy to train your units.

Yea, we have started many. And it will just take the time honestly. It kinda sucks that it takes 4 days. I would like it better if it’s 3 especially when it’s a sheriff unit. We may as well just make patrol units require “police” training. Lol.

just to pass on here - apparently "sheriff" was misnamed- should be Lt or Cpt. so "sheriff" training should be considered leadership training( info in other threads in forum)

@manfromcny - can you cite your source for that please? I haven't seen that.
And also - just based upon my experience living in MT/WY/CT the new missions are missions that a sheriff (and/or constable) would perform (especially in terms of evictions and service of papers and certain warrants. Based on the missions to which a Sheriff is assigned, I disagree that this is a captain or a Lt unit.

Am I the only one that's a little salty about the sheriff? I've already got multiple police stations set as different county sheriff departments, set in their real world locations. Where I'm from and have my setup (Ohio) the biggest difference between local PD's and the county sheriffs is jurisdiction. PD patrols and responds inside their city limits, while the sheriff patrols and usually responds to things in unincorporated areas of the county. It's not like I can't start the training or anything, I just already have a sheriff setup and I'm frustrated that I'm going to have to buy a bunch of new vehicles when I'm trying to expand I guess.

Yeah, it would have been nice to have maybe a week long period where you could train sheriffs but not receive calls for them yet. I was lucky that I have my own academies and a few coins to spare but I know not everyone has that available to them.
