Aviation Firefighting

  • I know Aviation Fire has been discussed many times so i am not going to say "Hey i think we should add it", Instead i want to look at the way it would work a bit more in depth.



    1: The building
    I think it should be separate from a normal fire station rather than just more vehicles at a normal fire station. I think that each station should cost 300K and come with 3 vehicle slots instead of 1, This station type will not increase in price depending on the amount of these stations you get. Prices for expanding airport stations should stay at 30K per vehicle slot due to that the vehicles that you buy are specialist to the airport and would only be able to respond to aviation calls (talked about further down in the post) to stop people from using them as normal fire stations and Airport fire stations tend to be quite large and have alot of bays. For Type 1/2 required jobs these vehicles can be purchased but for a much higher than normal value to once again stop people abusing the Airport station pricing. The building itself will not spawn any calls around it apart from calls spawned by POI, this is to make sure that there is no Brush pile calls on an active runway etc. An ambulance extension will also be available for this station but again again the ambulances will be a much higher price to purchase.



    1: Units
    Before i continue please note i am only using the British pictures as an example and most international airports around the world have the same equipment or equipment that serves the same purpose.


    (Aviation)


    Crash Truck: This vehicle is the main aircraft firefighting vehicle, this unit would cost 30K each.

    Domestic appliance: This vehicle attends every fire related emergency around the airport and can also respond to medical calls, this unit would cost 50K (due to the balancing situation)

    Chief: Attends all medium-large incidents and can also attend medical calls, This unit would cost 10K each.


    Tanker: Attends large fires, unit would cost 11,750.

    Rescue Stairs: Attends aircraft fires and some medical calls if required, unit costs 15K.

    Platform truck: Attends most medium-large incidents, unit costs 10K.


    (Civilian)


    Foam Unit: would be used for chemical fires, chemical spill or fuel fires, unit costs 15K.

    Water/Foam Unit: Would serve the same purpose as both the Foam unit and Water tanker, unit cost 19K.

  • 3: POI's and POI Calls
    A new set of POI's would be required to make sure that the airport fire station gets calls and that only Airport calls spawn within the grounds of the airport. These calls are designed to give players various Airport related calls without dictaing players setups (players with only fire setups etc will still get calls). The aircraft POI's are to be placed at gates and on aprons.

    The station
    Make the station 400k or 500k(300k seems a bit low)
    Not all units bound to the airport(here in aus if the airport units are the only ones available close by they go to it http://www.dailytelegraph.com.…46d8fa533b8a180c630ee4e06there have been tines were crash trucks have responded to nerby areas for fires or car crashes)



    units
    i think instead of having the domestic appliance it should be a type 1 or type 2 engine or have all three
    Add quint (most airport units in aus even the engines have turrets like crash trucks)
    You should add a rescue truck plus rescue engine when added
    Or instead of the ones above have an airpot engine which covers all three ass a coin purchase
    Add the Brush rig when added(many airpots have these unuts because getting a large crash truck through dense bush they use a brush truck)
    The airport crash trucks and engines are foam tenders(it is generally law in most countries for airpot unuts to carry foam)
    Water tankers arnt really a thing in airports due to the amount of hydrants(for structure calls your close to hydrants and normally aircraft fires are out before the tanks are empty due to the quick response time(longest response time 5min) and effectiveness off the techniques and equipment)
    Add mobile command vehicle (many airpots have these)
    Add utility unit(normal airportfire stations have at least 1)


    Calls
    Add normal units to the calls(normal out of airport fire teams are normally sent to many calls as part if standard procedures especially automatic fire alarms)
    Increase the amount of units per call (here in aus it is required that a crash truck goes to every gire related call with exception to some military bases)
    Add Battalion unit to every call (i always see the Battalion car go to every car at the local navy airbase)
    Add stair unit to all large aircraft (at least 50% to 75% chance need)
    Make small and large aircraft(not all aircraft require the same units airports that only have small aircraft only have 3 or 4 units)
    Make a military aircraft call (has calls like medical/small fires/accidental discharge/crash alarm/hot refueling)
    Helicopter poi (has calls like rotor accident/medical ect)
    Add airshow event(like the sports events but requires airport units ambulance and police



    Thats just my 2 bobs worth

  • love this idea but the lfb vehicle isnt based at the airport its based at a nearby station that helps cover

    I know i was meaning the foam unit added for calls outside of the airport and the water foam as a cross vehicle between both the water carrier and foam unit

  • This would be good to have In the game. Alot of time and effort has gone in to all this.


    If this did get added to the game could/would there be a way for my already placed fire stations(set up for ARFF) be converted to the airport station with put knocking down and rebuilding them?

  • You just buy the airport extension for the already built fire station.

    I have this already..but the content is saying a new airport fire station only to be build with 3 bays rather then the one you get when you build a normal fire station.

  • I wrote this post well before Airport fire came out, the way I said it should be done back then is actually more expensive than what it is now

    fair enough point. But could it be put back on the table for discussion has you do make a valid point of the station atleast just responding to airport calls only. If invest my credits exploring the options you mentioned above.


    Many time I've had a alarm call and my chief and type1 have responded to a none airport call. I can't really exclude them from calls as I have airport only alarm buttons.

  • It's not exactly difficult, I mean I have one ARFF battalion Chief and I know the area that it's stationed in. If I see that a call is in the area I just deselect the ARFF and send the next chief over. This is a strategy game, not an "everything has to be perfect and easy" game.

    I never said I wanted it easy. I no what area my airport chiefs are stationed at. But when your clicking on alarm calls via the app (when it's running slow) it makes the game harder to select and deselect the next OIC.


    I saw this post and thought that sounds good, I hoped It was put in place so that the airport units were unique to the airport only and not have to worry about other alarms taking your dedicated airport units.


    Upon reading more this thread was wrote before the ARFF extention was added to the game. So it now makes this thread a future idea of a dedicated airport fire service if it was ever brought up again to be added.
