Response area and call types

  • I am suggesting the ability to adjust response area for fire stations like VMR as some stations cover a large area. You could also have a Parks depot in the city spawning calls in the bush
The ability to adjust call types for each station if its not idv calls it would be categories like Rescue. Vegetation fire, structural fires, Small misc fires ETC

  • I agree Most my calls are around 2 minutes away from station But I will say its annoying to get a highrise fire in the bush

I can't see how they can stop that, the algorithm doesn't have local knowledge of maps, I no longer use Coast Guard boats or units as 90% of the calls are 1km inland and nothing looks more unrealistic than a boat driving across a map.

Thats why im saying a call type fire and major calls could be a type so a bush brigade has a 1% chance of major fires

  • Unfortunately it doesn’t look like the developers are going to introduce rural & urban stations. As it’s been asked for years.

The closest you’ll get is making a rural station a bushfire specialisation

  • Unfortunately can’t have everything the way we want it. I’ve been playing for 4 years. You just to get a custom to it not being exactly the same as real life

  • Use station specialisation to restrict a station to certain calls.

You can, however, there are a lot of stations in Australia that have Urban and rural coverage, but don't have skyscrapers etc. there should be another seperate mission type called "Urban" and "Rural". That way you can have missions like MVAs and house fires designated as both Urban and Rural, bushfire type missions like field fires designated as Rural, and fires like skyscraper fire designated as Urban. That way you can set a station to be Urban if it's in the city, or rural if it's in the country, and you'll only get the sort of mission that you want. Or if you just want missions, you can set it as Urban and Rural. Make the designation cost money, and leave in place the bushfire specialisation, so that if you only want bushfire missions you still have to do the specialisation.

    Edit:
This idea is basically, you do the normal Bushfire expansion, then if you want bushfires only, do the Bushfire extension, but if you want Rural, you do the Rural extension instead. If you want Urban only, it should be an extension that you can buy at a certain level, say Captain.

  • Rural Could be calls like the following:
    All types of vegitation fires
House fires Garage fires and all related calls to them
    Small fires like bin etc
    MVAs
    And urban is Everything

I'm just suggesting that they reclassify everything. Rural only is standard bushfires, plus reclassify scrub and grass fire, field fires, tractor fires. Rural and Urban is things like Vehicle accidents, burning grass, burning leaves, house fire related things, burning vehicles, small supermarket fires, light aircraft crash in bushland, etc. Urban only is things like Skyscraper fires, things that require multiple ladders, major Urban incidents. And ladders should be gotten off of a lot of missions, since they are nowhere near as prevalent in Australia as they are in America

  • This has been discussed for a long time for the US version. At this point in time, I don’t believe the devs will look at doing urban or rural stations. That is why we only have specialisations.

The game is set up to try and cover all basis, majority of it based for a city set up.

Completely understand what you are both trying to get across.

A lot of us have been playing for a lot longer and we have just gotten a custom to the way the game is played.

The original game is based in Germany.

It’s a free game and it’s the developers choice of what they want to do.
