New Content: General Practitioner & New Hospital Extensions

  • New MCUK update with the following:

    "

    • Major Trauma Centre
    • PPCI
    • Stroke Center
    • Burns
    • Children
    • Central Delivery Suite

Please note that we have re.named the clinics to Urgent Treatment Center and changed the Large Hospital Extension building limit from 5 to 3.

Not all illnesses and injuries need to be treated in a hospital, often a General Practitioner (GP) is needed rather than a hospital with specialised doctors, nurses and equipment. Therefore we are now introducing GP surgeries as new buildings or extensions to clinics and ambulance stations. GP surgeries can generate the mission “HCP Admission From GP Surgery”. 👩‍⚕️

With the GP surgery you can get the following vehicles: 🚑

    • Community Midwife
    • Specialist Paramedic RRV

With these we have added the following educations: 👨🏻‍🎓

    • Midwifery
    • Specialist Paramedic"

    Thoughts?

  • Replying on this thread instead of the previous one about the DEV blog.

    GP Surgeries

These are NOT intended as a receiving facility. The GP surgery is intended to house GP car, Specialist Paramedic RRV and the community midwife.

Being a building and available as an extension in other existing buildings means it can generate missions when you choose (when you've trained personnel etc).

    Community Midwife

Yes, not an emergency service run by the ambulance service however midwives do exist in some trusts in an advisory role.

The intended purpose in game is to simulate IRL when ambulance crews will ask if the midwife has been informed an is en route (yes as mentioned in previous thread, organised by the family).

Whilst midwives won't always be at child birth calls within the community it does happen.

    Urgent Treatment Centre

Name changed from clinic to be more suitable for the UK game.

    Extensions

New hospital extensions for the same reason as the Clinic name change, to become more suited to the UK game.

These extensions will also form a base of which we can hope to submit more content towards the DEVs.

I appreciate there are things that need fixing, some longstanding however let's welcome new content.

The Content Advisor team regularly provide feedback to the DEVs and we too play the game so we share the frustration.

  • Just out of interest what is the specialist paramedic role meant to be the equivalent to? advanced paramedic practitioners who don't specialise in critical care? (e.g. urgent and primary practitioners)

Yes, having the SPUC (Specialist Paramedic Urgent Care) and GP will provide players with a choice depending on the setup they choose.

I saw a comment elsewhere where someone believed it would be intended for HEMS, this is not the case.

  • I’m happy to see the work being done on this.

My only suggestion would be to alter the requirement to have large hospital for expansions like PPCI and Delivery Suite.

In my region these services are provided by small hospitals who are standalone hospitals specifically for that service. E.g. a heart and chest hospital, or a women’s hospital.

It was requested that way however the DEVs did not want to restrict it too much. They accepted that it was not realistic but believed it would be the best way for the community.

  • Can we just get rid of the building number requirement for Large and Major Hospitals. Im gunna have to build dozens of more hospitals just so that I can get all my hospitals that should be "major" to that level.

I agree! at the moment I have 15 Hospitals 12 of which should be Major!! Its going to take ages to get back to the Level of Hospital care I was at and tons of money to spend to get there! I no longer have any available Hospitals for some Missions until I have done the Expansions

You no longer have any available hospitals for some missions?

The new content has not changed existing buildings, it's given you more ways to expand with specialisations and extra beds.

  • NO!! What I actually said was "I no longer have any available Hospitals for some Missions until I have done the Expansions"

It now says Unconscious Child Now needs a Hospital with Children Extension! where It didnt matter before! so I have no facilities in this until Extesions are finished (at least 7 Days or more if other extensions on waiting list)

and Traumaitic Limb Amputations now need Critical Care Extenson.

Child Birth Now needs Delivery Suite!

I have 12 hospitals that now require Extra Exensions and I cant afford to do them all right now as lack of funds and will take a few days to Complete!

  • I’m really excited to see the SP-UC but I’m not sure about the way it seems to have been done.

The job HCP Home Visit, this is not an emergency so I can’t understand how this is a call? But why is it an RRV or SP RRV requirement?

Personally I’d have it set up so some patients require urgent care as opposed to critical care.

And then also have the SP RRV reduce the chance of a transport request. So they can be used as they are irl to do see and treat and reduce hospital admission.

  • You can still transport the patient, you just won't receive the bonus credits for correct department

  • More missions will be added for the new vehicles, they have only just been introduced.

The HCP home visit should be able to be completed by GP car or Specialist Paramedic RRV.

You're right, it's not an emergency but it is new content.

The patients for HCP home visit should not need Critical Care, this was never submitted to the DEVs and if it's happening it needs to be highlighted.

The mission needing the SP RRV already have a lower transport chance to reflect this and the future missions will have the same.

With every CP release we expect some negativity around it (I'm talking overall on here and facebook), I would be very keen for players to message me what new content they would like to see in the game for the Ambulance side.

  • I see, thank you for your replies.

Also, I believe the admission from GP also requires critical care. Maybe this could be changed?

  • The 3:1 ratio for large hospital is going to be problematic; there are very few hospitals that don't accept children or have a delivery suite or have critical care (I'd suggest that the overwhelming majority actually have all three), if you're playing realistically almost every single hospital needs to be large. It might be better to limit MTC or Burns Centres (which are truly limited in the UK) to 1 in 10 or 15.

Non-ED hospitals (e.g. Barts or Broadgreen for PPCI, Alder Hey for Children, East Grinstead for Burns) were always going to be complicated to do and I don't think that can be reasonably expected.

    Agreed
