I think that the new truck should also act as ALS as it's got more crew in and is in the ambulance stations
EMS Rescue should also function as ALS

Agreed

Its a heavy rescue unit just like fire only for EMS
-
Acting as ALS? EMS rescues should not have the capability to transport patients.
I personally think if anything they should be able to treat patients, but certainly not transport them.
^ Although this might be currently possible... Not sure, as I am yet to purchase one -
It will eventually act as a flycar unfortunately for a couple reasons it couldn’t be done at this stage but eventually it will be able

Do you know what type of calls this unit will be used for ???

I believe the same as the Fire heavy rescue

EMS rescue should stay needing an ambo to transport and not be ALS, depending on the use. In the UK, HART are advanced paramedics, but have no transport capability. They are essentially just paramedics who drive fancy vehicles with rescue equipment in.
-
EMS Rescues will not handle patient transfers but they will act as an ALS flycar eventually. Rescue ambulance that do carry patients may be added in the future.

Bit of a derogatory statement. Yes they have 'fancy' vehicles and are often ridiculed by the 'normal' crews. They have advanced drugs and capabilities that normal road crews don't have. HART have a special skill set that supplements the normal NHS crews with water/rope/confined space training plus more. SORT (HART) in Scotland do all of the same but they do however have what are basically rescue ambulances with the ability to treat and transport in addition to the rest of their fleet of vehicles.
-
I think for the meantime I'll keep my ISU HART and IRU MERIT cars as ALS
-
Agreed. The EMS Rescue needs to be able to treat patients at an ALS level. However, they will request an ALS Ambulance if transportation is required.

So there's a little bit of misunderstanding going on here.
The new EMS rescue will not transport as has been made clear, the capability to treat in line with the fly car will however be added. ALS is advanced life support, it refers to the clinical skill of the crew and the equipment available, not the ability to transport.
@Badermedic, I wouldn't take offence at that comment, it's been made by someone who will learn in good time. I'd agree with the fancy vehicles with rescue equipment though, lol.
-
I don't get it...people don't seem to get it. HART and MERIT crews are more advanced paramedics and usually carry a doctor on board. Why shouldn't they have ALS capability?
-
The unit will EVENTUALLY be able to perform ALS functions, although it can’t right NOW. Are we all clear?

Never said they weren't more advanced because yes i know what HART is and what they do; i want to join them after uni. Just explaining in terms of EMS rescue and in game.
