Specialized Stations

  • Now that I have started specializing the forestry stations, why would the price go up by station? On my 5th one and it is over 200k to specialize it.

I have been informed previously that the more stations you build the more they begin to cost you because with more stations you generate more credits. While this specialized station thing is great, it comes a bit late for me as I just did the forestry expansion on each fire station and then put brush rigs in them as I had more credits. I made my own forestry stations by building and adding the extension, and then I moved the the engine to where it was needed and filled the station with wildland or brush apparatus. I am, however, glad they have add it as so many people have been asking for it.

To build the station would still be the same process, you would need to expand the station first and then once expanded you can select it as a Specialised Station.

The building process remains the same, all the specialisation does is select the station to primarily provide wildfire/forestry missions for example.

So for your stations, if you've built stations to only be a forestry type station, you can go in and now designate it as a forestry/wildfire station, meaning that it will spawn primarily forestry/wildfire missions and significantly less of the regular missions.

So if the example below, I only have Fire Investigation expanded on the station, so I cannot specialise it:

However, on this station as I do have the Water Rescue expansion completed, If I choose to do so (and pay for the speclisation), I can pay 50,000 credits or 20 coins to designate the station as Water Rescue Specialty.

    Cheers,

  • yes... I realize that...thanks... I just have to go back now and remember where I put them

  • EMS-Chief The stations have all been built, and they all had the forest extension done. This add-on is supposed to put the specialization on which I assume was going to be treated like an extension. That is what generated the question, why does the cost go up versus treating it like an extension and the price is constant? I previously built 17 forestry stations and I wanted to specialize them just for wildfires. If this is working as designed, the price is extremely prohibitive.

I am sure EMS Chief will correct me if I am wrong, but I was told by a moderator and an administrator. The more stations you build the more they begin to cost.

  • This concern is presently being discussed by the content team as well, it will be brought up to the devs the concerns the community is having with the specialisations.

  • i glad the Devs set up the specialization, but why couldnt they just make it separate stations instead of the extra steps to make a station specialized. Its not like it hasnt been done before - we have the Fire Marshall's office, and the fire marshal extension, so why not for example a Wildland station?

Specialised stations are not a new "type" of station in the way you're thinking. They're building off of the expansions we already have.

To add a forestry station when there is already a forestry expansion for fire stations makes absolutely no sense, for both game mechanics, back end, and for users.

  • Also it would bee alot more recourses to do all separate buildings and for the fire marshal sometimes is a different department hence the separated building the specialist stations make sense imo and are a good way to do it aswell as a actually well done system unlike the building complexes. I reported a bug with it before and it was fixed withen the week so I tbink ti was done well apart from the price increasing per extension but that can be fixed.

AND the specialist stations allow you to update old stations whereas a new building wouldn't

  • I don't mind the specialization as long as the exponential price increase can be stopped. If they had to be stand-alone stations I would have to move my existing ones.

I agree with you on this one. Those of us that have large coverings are being gouged for credits. The more we play and add new buildings the more they cost us.

When you activate the forestry specialization, it changes what calls the station generates, that is the biggest reason.

  • I think this question relates to specialized stations but if not, please move it to the correct thread so I do not get in trouble. Why am I having stations spawn flooding missions that require boats when they DO NOT have the Water Rescue Extension or the Water Rescue Specializations and are NO WHERE near any stations that do?
