Lack of developments

  • I get a lot of the advisors and such do this in their spare time but is there any news on any actual changes to MCUK? there have been some new missions here and there and occasional bug fixes but we've not had an actual update in over half a year now (SAR P2 was almost 7 months ago now, which was randomly added and never really expanded on at all) I understand one issue was a lack of mountain rescue advisors but there's still plenty to be developed in other services, police and fire especially (a lot of which don't seem to be too complex (e.g. a Police command unit could pretty much just be a duplicate of ICCU or something))

And I'm sure the rest of the community understands that all the people who support MCUK's development side have a life but the game has been pretty dead for ages now because of the lack of not even updates but any communication at all on further developments

So much content thats hardly used in the SAR expansion, implemented pretty bad interms of missions and stuff. Like there would be 1 single mission for the specialist SAR stuff

  • If we were waiting months for decent updates with substance to them I feel like I wouldn't mind as much but it's been 7 months since SAR P2 which as you've said was rushed and implemented poorly and was never touched again, before that was the flood trailer update which was even more useless than SAR P2.

Both of those aside it's been a year since we've had a single update that has had some thought put into it (Airport & Coastguard), once again and I can't reiterate it enough - me and the community do understand all the content advisors who support these developments do it in their free time and have their personal lives as well as the fact the devs have been known to be difficult to work with, however, MCUK has been practically abandoned at this point with not much of a community left due to zero communication to us at all

WHAT ELSE ARE WE WORKING ON?

To wrap up this newsletter, we would like to take a moment to look into the future with you and show you what we are currently cooking up: [Blocked Image: https://fonts.gstatic.com/s/e/…0/1f9d1_200d_1f373/32.png]

    More planned missions:

So far, you can receive a maximum of 4 planned missions, i.e. missions such as security guards that are announced in advance and have a fixed duration. In the future, depending on how many stations you have, you will be able to receive up to 20 such missions.

    New graphic pack features:

Currently, you can assign graphic packs to all stations in the game or to individual stations, soon it will also be possible to assign graphic packs to all stations that belong to a specific dispatch center. For example, you will be able to use certain graphics for certain states. It will also be possible to use the same graphics for all vehicles of a certain type in a station or dispatch center with one click.

    Ambulance Update

Look forward to the ambulance update on which we are currently working. This will contain intensive care units so that patients who need intensive care can be transported to specialised hospitals.

    ... AND MORE!

Needless to say, we are already working on the next content update, new features, and much, much more. So stay tuned for more details in our upcoming developer blogs!

Please continue to send us your feedback - what do you want to see next in the game? We continue to work tirelessly to make Mission Chief the best game experience for you in 2024 and beyond!

I completely agree with this it seems the is a shift of interest to the American one than the uk one they have alot more assets ie federal agencies and like of marine patrols and the newest one is tow trucks

  • In-game, there was an option to subscribe to it under the edit account tab, however I've had a good look and I cannot seem to find it. Possibly been removed or it's a bug that it's no longer visible.

Pretty sure it only shows up if you havent subscribed

Bear in mind that the US one was created years before the UK one, so UK will always be playing catch-up. That pre-dates the current developers.

At least when implementing universal content on one server, they do it on the other two English ones as well. It seems like it would be a simple copy + paste for the tow trucks, with maybe the names changed.

  • Whitchit what do they mean by ‘intensive care units’ we already have critical care?

I have seen these being used by SECAMB (South East Coast Ambulance Service), Mainly for transfering very Sick Patients between Hospitals, but also when amputations or Medical Induced Comas are needed From Road Accidents etc etc... The Air Ambulance is also classed as An Intensive Care Unit!

They are practically mobile Hospitals and carry Doctors/Surgeons/Consultants etc... depending on requirements!

  • We could do with other services too, such as:-

    Breakdown Assistance

Recovery tow Trucks (for cars & vans)

    Heavy Recovery Trucks (for Lorries)

    Highways Ageny

    VOSA (Vehicle Operation Standards Agency)

    Traffic Management

    Traffic Wardens (Parking Enforcement)

Hopefully we will start geting some of these soon like the US and AU versions??

  • Whitchit what do they mean by ‘intensive care units’ we already have critical care?

Im guessing its splitting Crit care into more sub-categories. With additions like HEMS doctors, Urgent Care Paramedics, etc. Maybe even making HART a patient requirement and not just a mission thing.

Im also hoping that means some overhaul on hospital departments at the same time as well

  • Intensive Care sounds like a Hospital Department, but could also be in reference to the patient transport side of critical care - from one hospital to another, but with a specialist vehicle and team instead of generic non-emergency or standard ambulance transporting.

As for the other suggestions - I'd like to see the Highways Agency implemented in the future, not before the current emergency services are polished up and finished. Anything else, including VOSA, traffic wardens, and recovery, would in my opinion not add any value to an emergency services game. Frankly, I would prefer not to see them at all. But I do see how they can appeal to others. It just doesn't float my boat in the slightest.

  • Adult Critical Care Transfers are provided by NHS or Private Emergency Ambulances, they’re no different to any other frontline ambulance. It’s only paediatric that have specialist transfer vehicles and teams.

I would however like to see emergency inter-facility transfers, like how you have the transfer mission for urgent care centres to the nearest ED. It would be nice if for example you transport a patient to the nearest hospital without the needed speciality a mission would then later spawn to transfer that patient.

For example, ambulances often convey to the nearest ED as opposed to the required hospital for time-critical reasons. E.g. Stroke and Major Trauma may be taken to a local ED for immediate interventions and stabilisation before further transfer to the tertiary stroke or major trauma centre. And this would often be done by a frontline crew unless the hospital has a contract with a private organisation. 😊

ScotSTAR have an ECMO-capable ambulance which does adult trauma transfers, but it's more of a trial vehicle and I don't think any other services have one like it
